Maroon would have not been considered before his trade to Edmonton as he was a fourth liner with Anaheim as well as the Ducks being in the playoffs. Maroon picked up three points during Thursday's 6-3 win over San Jose. He's now up to four goals and 12 points through 12 games with Edmonton, after scoring four goals and 13 points in 56 games with Anaheim. Playing primarily with Connor McDavid surely helps, but remember he saw a lot of time with Ryan Getzlaf and Ryan Kesler as well. Either way, you may wish to ride the hot hand.

Maroon now has two goals and six points in eight games with Edmonton. While he hasn't had consistent linemates thus far with the Oilers, the fact that he's been serving as a top-six forward has allowed him to play with the likes of Leon Draisaitl, Taylor Hall, Connor McDavid, and Jordan Eberle.

Maroon will play with Connor McDavid and Jordan Eberle on the first line. Maroon and been a nice addition for the Oilers, after being acquired from the Anaheim Ducks. The gritty forward has four points in all of his six games with Edmonton.
Mar 14 - 11:14 AM

Patrick Maroon has a goal and two assists in his first two games with the Oilers.

Maroon had only 13 points in 56 games with Anaheim before his trade to the Alberta capital. He is a tough and chippy player who is not afraid to get his nose dirty. "Maroon’s a long-term player for us because he’s got time (two more years) left on his contract. We’re well aware of his size and ability to hold onto pucks down low, and how he likes to go to the paint. It’s something we were lacking and what we sorely need. The addition of Maroon and (Zack) Kassian and Adam Pardy on the back-end gives us more meatiness in the lineup," said Oilers’ coach Todd McLellan.

Patrick Maroon, Nikita Nikitin, and Luke Gazdic will be scratched against the Sabres on Tuesday.

It's been a disappointing season for Maroon, as he's posted just 13 points in 56 games with 54 PIMs and 114 hits thus far. Which, still, is more productive than Nikitin and Gazdic have been combined.

Feb 6 - 1:29 AM

Patrick Maroon is showing signs of life in what has largely been a miserable season for him.

Maroon was limited to five points in his first 39 games, but he's registered an assist in each of his last two contests. Maroon often played alongside Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry last season, but he's been bounced around a lot in 2015-16 and that hasn't benefited him, to say the very least. He's playing with Corey Perry and Rickard Rakell now though and that might work out for him. "The opportunity came to me and I just can’t look back now," Maroon said. "I got to start playing good. There’s time running out now. We need to make a push to playoffs and I need to step up. My game hasn’t been as effective as it was last year. And certainly not – I hate bringing up playoffs – but definitely not [like the] playoffs. But for me, I just got keep staying positive."
