Mar 17 - 1:58 PM

Patrick Maroon is questionable for Saturday afternoon's game against the Kings.

Maroon had a "maintenance" day on Friday and did not practice due to a lower-body injury. Devils' coach John Hynes has not ruled out Maroon for Saturday's matinee against Los Angeles, but he's no sure bet to play. If you have a reasonable alternative for Maroon, we suggest you start him.

Feb 27 - 1:27 PM

After being traded, Patrick Maroon isn't opposed to the idea of re-signing with Edmonton over the summer.

Edmonton dealt Maroon to the Devils in exchange for a 2019 third-round pick and prospect J.D. Dudek, but it wouldn't be surprising if they still pursued Maroon after the season. Either way, Maroon made it clear that that's not his focus right now. "I’m a New Jersey Devil right now," said Maroon. "My goal is to come in and make an immediate impact. It’s a good opportunity to take this team to the playoffs." He has 14 goals and 30 points in 57 games this season.
Feb 27 - 5:29 AM

New Jersey has received Patrick Maroon in a trade with Edmonton.

The Oilers will receive a third-round pick in 2019 and a prospect J.D. Dudek in the deal. Maroon and Michael Grabner were added to the Devils as the team loads up for a potential spot in the playoffs. Maroon has 14 goals and 30 points in 57 games this season.
Feb 26 - 3:18 PM

Patrick Maroon will be a healthy scratch against Arizona on Sunday.

Maroon is available to play after missing time due to a lower-body injury, but the big-bodied winger will probably have a new home before Monday's 3:00 p.m. ET trade deadline. Maroon has 14 goals and 30 points in 57 games this season, which is decent considering the Oilers' struggles this season. Maroon, who put up eight points in 13 games during last year's playoff run, will be handy for teams in the postseason hunt.
Feb 25 - 7:59 PM

Patrick Maroon (lower body) will be back in the lineup on Sunday.

Maroon has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury. He has been mentioned in plenty of trade rumors going into Monday's deadline day, so this could be his last game with the Oilers. Maroon has 14 goals, 30 points and 60 penalty minutes in 57 contests this campaign.
Feb 25 - 3:35 PM

Patrick Maroon, who has missed his last two games with a lower body injury, could return Sunday.

The forward will likely play his last game as an Oiler if he is able to return. The UFA-to-be had 14 goals and 30 points in 59 games and will be a very nice acquisition to a playoff contender. "Patty’s on the verge of playing tomorrow in Anaheim," said coach Todd McLellan. "We’re trying to win games and we’re going to field our best lineup. We owe that to the players in the locker room. We’re not sitting Patrick Maroon out because there’s a potential trade. He has a lower body injury. He’s been skating for two days." Maroon said he packed more than usual on the road trip in anticipation of a trade.
Feb 25 - 7:27 AM

Pat Maroon is skating Saturday morning.

That's a step in the right direction for Maroon who is dealing with a lower-body injury that kept him from Thursday's game against Colorado. We don't know if that means Maroon will be in the lineup Saturday night against the Kings but it is good news for the Oilers who will likely be trading the power forward in the next few days.
Feb 24 - 1:56 PM

Patrick Maroon is dealing with a lower-body injury.

The Oilers termed Maroon's issue as minor, but he won't play on Thursday. He has 14 goals and 30 points in 57 contests this season.
Feb 22 - 2:18 PM

Patrick Maroon posted a goal with an assist and a plus-1 rating in Monday's 7-5 loss against the Panthers.

Maroon is a streaky player, so perhaps this is the start of a hot run for the veteran. He hadn't scored since Jan. 20, the final outing of a three-game run with four goals and an assist. He is an impending unrestricted free agent this summer, so Maroon's named has been bandied about leading up to the NHL trade deadline. With the Oilers underachieving this season Maroon could be sent packing soon.
