Mar 21 - 11:21 PM

Patrick Maroon has been sent to the minors.

Maroon has two goals and 10 penalty minutes in 11 games with Anaheim. He has 36 points and 113 penalty minutes in 48 AHL games this season and that's consistent with the type of numbers he's typically put up in the minors. If he ever earns a permanent spot on the Ducks' third line, he might have some fantasy value.
Mar 15 - 4:39 PM

Patrick Maroon scored his second goal in his 10th appearance with Anaheim this season.

His marker tied the game 1-1 early in the third period. Maroon also dropped the gloves with Minnesota's Zenon Konopka during the first frame. Defenseman Luca Sbisa scored the game's winning marker late in the match.

Mar 11 - 6:00 PM

Anaheim Ducks assign Patrick Maroon to AHL Norfolk.

Maroon was recalled by the Ducks in mid.-February. He is more of a tough guy than anything else and had almost no fantasy value beyond penalty minutes.
Mar 6 - 9:55 AM

The goal scored by Patrick Maroon against Nashville Saturday was the first of his NHL career.

Maroon played on a line with Kyle Palmieri and Peter Holland against the Predators and their familiarity with each other paid dividends. "Me, Kyle and Peter played together for a whole season before the lockout," Maroon said. "So obviously we know where we're are on the ice and what to do with the puck. How to get open. I just know Palmy's a shooter. He threw it to the net and made a great play. Luckily I got a piece of it."
Feb 17 - 10:55 AM

Patrick Maroon netted his first goal of the season in a 3-2 shootout victory.

Matt Beleskey scored Anaheim's other regulation-time goal. Corey Perry, Bryan Allen, Kyle Palmieri, and Francois Beauchemin each registered an assist for Anaheim.
Feb 16 - 11:02 PM

The Ducks recalled Patrick Maroon on Wednesday.

Maroon was a sixth-round pick of the Flyers from the 2007 draft. He's a tough guy with some skill. The 24-year-old had 30 points and 108 penalty minutes in the AHL and is worth a look in fantasy leagues.
Feb 13 - 9:30 PM

The Anaheim Ducks have placed Patrick Maroon on waivers.

Maroon had 22 points and 98 penalty minutes in 34 games with AHL Norfolk during the lockout. He's worth keeping an eye on if he gets a chance to play in the NHL.
Jan 13 - 1:41 PM

Patrick Maroon scored twice to lead the Norfolk Admirals to a 4-3 shootout win over Worcester Sunday.

Maroon made his NHL debut last season but has been a career minor leaguer. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound winger performed well for Syracuse in the AHL last season with 32 goals, 74 points, 120 penalty minutes, 219 shots and a plus-17 rating. He has a real shot at cracking the Ducks lineup once the lockout ends as at age 24, he may finally be ready.

Patrick Maroon has signed an AHL-only deal with Norfolk.

Maroon might have been able to make the jump to the NHL this season, but the lockout has complicated matters. He had 32 goals, 74 points, and 120 penalty minutes in 75 AHL games last season.

Patrick Maroon could be a player to watch at training camp.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound winger performed well for Syracuse in the AHL last season with 32 goals, 74 points, 120 penalty minutes, 219 shots and a plus-17 rating. He suited up in just two contests with the Ducks though, as former coach Randy Carlyle wasn't a fan of the power forward's lack of pace to his game. Maroon will probably get another look under current bench boss Bruce Boudreau in 2012-13 though. If Bobby Ryan is dealt then it could open a big hole at left wing for him to step in because the only other players with top-six potential on that side after Ryan are Andrew Cogliano and Matt Beleskey.

Maroon got a chance to play on the Ducks' first line in his NHL debut on Tuesday. However, his NHL-stint lasted just two games. The silver lining is that this won't be the last time we see Maroon.
