Oskars Bartulis has been placed on waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers.
Bartulis will probably be bought out unless another squad claims him on waivers. He was scheduled to make $600,000 next season. He didn't end up getting any playing time with Philadelphia in 2011-12, but he did record 11 points in 36 AHL contests. Sat, Jun 30, 2012 12:56:00 PM

Oskars Bartulis sustained a shoulder injury on Tuesday night against Phoenix.

He was hit into the boards by Coyotes forward Scottie Upshall early in the second period and was forced to leave the game. Upshall got a two-minute minor for boarding on the play. Bartulis was filling in for the injured defender Sean O'Donnell (knee) in the contest and now the Flyers will likely have to bring up another blueliner from the minors for Thursday's game against the Islanders.
