Ryan Wilson has been called up from the AHL.

He was in the minors on a conditioning assignment, but Tyson Barrie has a shoulder injury and Nick Holden's wife is in labor, so he's back in the NHL ahead of schedule. Wilson has four assists in 13 games with Colorado this year.

Ryan Wilson has been sent to the minors on a 14-day conditioning stint.

Ryan Wilson received plenty of ice time against the Blackhawks Friday night in his return to action.

Wilson, who had not played in a game since November 6th due to a back injury, was on the ice for 21:25, second most on the team. He also skated on the team's power-play unit and took a number of shifts on the penalty kill. For his part, Wilson wasn't trying to do too much after missing seven weeks of games. "I just try and play my game, whatever I think I need to do that night," Wilson said. "Not do too much. Coming back from an injury like this, I'm going to be a little nervous and everything is going to be moving pretty quick but the thing is you have to keep it simple and play your game and just enjoy it." Wilson is only rosterable in the deepest of hockey pools.

Ryan Wilson will remain a healthy scratch on Monday.

Colorado Avalanche coach Patrick Roy likes how his team is playing lately and consequently isn't prepared to shake up the lines to accommodate Wilson's return from a back injury. It wouldn't be surprising to see him play on Friday after the Christmas break.

Ryan Wilson won't return Tuesday from his back injury after all.

He sat out for an 18th consecutive game Monday and he won't travel with the team for Tuesday's rematch against Dallas. Wilson might not be available for Thursday's contest versus Edmonton either. The Avalanche are being patient with Wilson, so consider him day-to-day.

Ryan Wilson has recovered to the point of being able to return to action Saturday against the Wild.

The question is will he suit up? Avalanche coach Patrick Roy is going to have to choose two defensemen from Nick Holden, Tyson Barrie and Wilson to play against Minnesota. Our guess is that Wilson sits out one more game.
