Alexandre Daigle has signed a contract to play with HC Davos in the Swiss League next season.
Daigle spent most of this past season with the Minnesota Wild, scoring 28 points in 46 games, but was placed on waivers in March and subsequently assigned to the AHL. He was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, so it's unlikely that an NHL team will attempt to lure him back to North America in the off-season. If he does not come back to the NHL he will remain one of the poorest players to be drafted first overall in the entry draft and the only one to ever pose in a nurse's uniform for a hockey card. Alexandre Daigle will play for Manchester of the AHL.

There was no room for Daigle in Houston where the Wild have their farm team. So he has been loaned to the Kings farm team in Manchester. Do not expect Daigle to return to the NHL this year.

The Wild have waived Alexandre Daigle

Daigle was waived to make room for Mattias Weinhandl on Minnesota's roster. He has scored 5 goals and 28 points in 46 games this season, but found himself a healthy scratch in the last five games, and 8 of the last 10. Said Assistant GM Tom Lynn: "We tried to give him as many opportunities as we could to get back to where he was in '03-04, and it just didn't happen." Daigle remains on waivers until a team claims him or until the waiver period expires around noon on Monday.

Alexandre Daigle was a healthy scratch last night.

He joined teammate Kyle Wanvig in the press box. Daigle has been in and out of the lineup a little too much to have him on your active roster. Reserve him when the NHL returns from the break.

Alexandre Daigle had 1 goal and 2 points as Minnesota downed Nashville 5-1 tonight.

After being a healthy scratch earlier this year, Daigle has started to perform a little better, but he still only has 5 goals and 26 points to show for his efforts this year. As he is not a defensive stalwart, he has to play at a higher level to justify his spot in the Wild lineup. We cannot recommend him in fantasy formats at the present time.

Alexandre Daigle was a halthy scratch last night.

With 4 goals in 38 games, Daigle's performance has been sub par, making it easy for coach Jacques Lemaire to sit out the former number one overall pick. Be very careful if you want to put Daigle back in your lineup as the only fantasy stat that he does well is scoring and if he is not scoring, as is the csae right now, he has no value.

Alexander Daigle was a healthy scratch last night.

The former number one selection has only 3 goals in 33 games this season as he struggles to regain his form from 2003/04 when he led the Wild in points with 51. Take a wait-and-see approach with Daigle and put him on your bench immediately if he is still in your lineup.

Alexandre Daigle appears to be back on track.

The speedy winger is playing on a line with Marian Gaborik as well as seeing time on the first power play unit. He is worth picking up in larger leagues.

Alexandre Daigle scored two goals as the Wild trounced the Penguins, 5-0.

Marion Gaborik, Wes Walz and Brian Rolston scored the other goals for Minnesota. One of Daigle's goals came on the power play and he now has 15 points in 25 games. He has struggled this year compared to the totals he achieved in 2003/2004. He may break out before the end of the season and is worth keeping an eye on.

Alexandre Daigle was a healthy scratch last night.

This is two out of three games that Daigle has been in the press box for his play. Daigle has only one goal and 10 assists this season, so if he is in your lineup, you should look for a better alternative.

Alexandre Daigle is off to a poor start with the Wild this sesaon.

Coach Jacques Lemaire will play Daigle with Randy Robitaille and Marian Gaborik in an attempt to help his game. Daigle can only be helped by playing with Gaborik and it is worth considering putting him back in your lineup if you have him sitting on your bench.

Alexandre Daigle missed last night's game against the Panthers due to a sore hip.

Wild GM Doug Risebrough does not believe the injury is serious and Dagile should be able to return to the lineup sometime next week.

The Wild have re-signed forward Alexandre Daigle to a one-year, $850,000 contract.

The 30-year-old Daigle was a nice surprise in 2003-04 as he led Minnesota in scoring with 51 points. It is hard to rely on a player with a work ethic such as Daigle from one season to the next, but it may be that he has finally figured out what it takes to compete at the NHL level. Count on him for 40 points and if he gets more, then consider yourself fortunate.

Alexandre Daigle signed a contract with Forward Morgues, a second divison Swiss team.

He will now have Martin Gelinas, who is 9th in league scoring, as a teammate.

The Wild have picked up the $700,000 option on Alexandre Daigle.

All things considered, Daigle had a fairly successful season in 2003-04, and seems to be a bargain at $700,000.
