The Red Wings have activated Jan Mursak (collarbone) off injured reserve, but he won't play Tuesday night.

Mursak is only a fourth liner when healthy, so the fact that he's been scratched isn't too much of a surprise. Given his limited role, he has almost no fantasy value.

Jan Murzak (collarbone) has been cleared to play.

Murzak was injured during his first shift in the first game of the regular season. He finished the period but then was taken out of the game when the results of the x-ray returned. The grinder is still on the injured reserve list but he will need to be activated before he is eligible to play. He is a fourth liner so his fantasy value is negligible at best.

Jan Mursak suffered a collarbone injury Saturday and could be out for weeks.

Mursak will see doctors on Monday as he was in a sling Sunday. He was injured on his first shift when knocked into the boards. "I finished the period but when they got the results of the X-ray, they said I couldn't play," said Mursak. "It's not fun but I'm trying to stay positive." Look for Mursak to be put on the injured reserve list.

Jan Mursak has been excelling in the Austrian hockey league.

Mursak has 10 goals and 22 assists in 19 Austrian games. Obviously, he shouldn't be counted on to put up anything near those numbers if the lockout ends and he rejoins the Detroit Red Wings. Still, it might help set him up to be on the Red Wings' fourth line in the hypothetical 2012-13 season opener.
