Sep 30 - 10:48 AM

Clayton Stoner (upper body) is projected to get into at least one preseason game.

Stoner didn't participate in his first training camp practice until Saturday. He doesn't do much offensively, but he is noteworthy situationally in standard leagues because he'll provide fantasy owners with around a penalty minute per game.
Sep 28 - 5:54 AM

Clayton Stoner (upper body) finally practiced on Saturday.

It was Stoner's first practice in training camp. "You work hard in the summer to try and come in, make a good impression and feel good going into the season," Stoner said. "I was unfortunate that it was something nagging. At this point, I hope it’s behind me for the season." He should be a third line defense pairing for the Ducks. Stoner had only eight points in 69 games last season and his peripheral numbers are unexceptional, so he should not be taken in very many pools.
Sep 27 - 5:52 AM

Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said Clayton Stoner (upper body) is at least a few days away from practicing.

Now is not the time to rush back as doing so prematurely could mean a player is trying to catch up for most of the early portions of the season if he further injures himself. Stoner had eight points last season.
Sep 19 - 7:21 PM

Clayton Stoner didn't participate in Friday's skate due to an upper-body injury.

Stoner could start skating as early as Saturday, so we're not particularly concerned about this development yet. He had eight points and 68 penalty minutes in 69 contests last season.
Sep 18 - 6:52 PM

Clayton Stoner is facing charges related to the hunting of a grizzly bear.

The alleged incident took place on May 28, 2013. The charges reportedly take aim at the residency requirement as the hunt took place in British Columbia, but he was not physically present in that province the "greater portion of each of six calendar months out of the 12 calendar months." If he didn't meet the requirements of being a resident hunter, then he have had to pay around $25,000 to hunt a coastal grizzly. He has a court date scheduled for Oct. 9 and might face substantial fines if found guilty.
Sep 17 - 11:53 AM

Clayton Stoner netted his first goal of the 2015 playoffs on Wednesday night in Game 6 against Chicago.

He scored less than two minutes into the third period to shrink Chicago's lead to one goal, but the Ducks couldn't get the tying marker and ended up with a 5-2 loss. Stoner has one point, 28 blocks, 59 hits and a plus-5 rating in the postseason this year.
May 28 - 10:51 AM

Clayton Stoner sat out practice on Saturday.

Stoner was given the day off as a maintenance day. The Ducks want Stoner to be healthy for the second round of the playoffs and it's expected that he will return to practice Monday as Sunday is a day off for the Ducks.
Apr 26 - 6:12 AM

Clayton Stoner will suit up in Game 1 against Winnipeg.

His presence in the lineup will send James Wisniewski into the press box. Coach Bruce Boudreau made the decision because he likes the defense tandem of Stoner and Sami Vatanen. "They have been teamed up all year," Boudreau said. "Sami seems to play his best with Clayton and now Clayton is fully healthy. So I don't see why he would lose his position."
Apr 16 - 4:04 PM

Clayton Stoner (lower body injury) will rejoin the Ducks lineup Wednesday evening against Dallas.

Stoner had missed three straight games due to the injury but will be back on the blue line Wednesday, replacing James Wisniewski, who will be a healthy scratch. The Ducks are preparing for a deep playoff run and trying to format their defense accordingly. In 67 games played this season, Stoner has a goal and seven assists with 66 penalty minutes.
Apr 8 - 7:07 PM

Clayton Stoner (lower body) might return to the Ducks' lineup on Wednesday.

If that's the case then James Wisniewski would probably be a healthy scratch as the Ducks focus on staying fresh for the playoffs. Stoner has missed three straight games due to the ailment. He has eight points and 66 penalty minutes in 67 contests in 2014-15.
Apr 8 - 2:07 PM

The Anaheim Ducks are not rushing Clayton Stoner (lower body) back into the lineup.

Coach Bruce Boudreau stated on Saturday that Stoner could play if it was a playoff game but with the playoffs only 10 days away, it makes sense for the Ducks to take their time with the blueliner. He has a goal and eight points in 67 games so he isn't in your fantasy lineup for his scoring prowess.
Apr 5 - 4:55 AM

Clayton Stoner described his current lower-body injury as something that "comes and goes."

Stoner feels now is the time to address the lingering ailment so that it's hopefully better ahead of the playoffs. He hasn't played since March 28 as a result, although he might be back on Friday.
Apr 3 - 10:14 AM
