Frazer McLaren scored the game-winning goal for Toronto in a 3-2 win Saturday.

Nazem Kadri and Mikhail Grabovski each found the back of the net for the Leafs. Clarke MacArthur, John-Michael Liles, Ryan Hamilton, Matt Frattin, Colton Orr, and Jay McClement each registered an assist on Saturday.

Frazer McLaren didn't feel right after his lopsided fight with Ottawa forward Dave Dziurzynski Wednesday night.

McLaren KO'd Dziurzynski in the bout in a chilling moment and was visibly upset after seeing the Senators rookie fall face-first on the ice. "Any time you're in a fight, you never want to see that happen," McLaren said. "I asked the doctor in between periods, just to get word that he's alright. It's just an unfortunate incident." Dziurzynski sustained a concussion on the play. McLaren has racked up 32 penalty minutes and three points since being claimed off waivers by Toronto from San Jose.

Frazer McLaren scored his first as a Leaf in a 3-0 win against the Senators in the Battle of Ontario Saturday night.

It was just the second career goal for the Winnipeg native in 47 games. "It was a couple years ago and it was against Roberto Luongo in Vancouver," said McLaren. "It's been awhile." He obviously doesn't have any fantasy value.

Frazer McLaren netted his second career goal in a 3-0 victory Saturday.

McLaren scored his first NHL goal on Nov. 29, 2009. Tyler Bozak and John-Michael Liles accounted for the Leafs' other two goals.

Frazer McLaren will make his Maple Leaf debut Saturday against the Bruins.

The tough guy, who was claimed off waivers from San Jose after Mike Brown was injured this week, will want to make a favorable impression. We are betting on a McLaren/Lane MacDermid tiff.
Feb 2 - 12:44 PM

Toronto has picked up Frazer McLaren off waivers from San Jose.

The 25-year-old forward brings plenty of size to the table at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds and he plays a rugged game that coach Randy Carlyle likes to roster. McLaren has 40 games of big-league experience, where he has generated six points and 85 penalty minutes.

Frazer McLaren has signed with AHL Worcester.

McLaren also has a deal with the San Jose Sharks for when the lockout ends. He had no points and nine penalty minutes in seven games with San Jose last season.

Frazer McLaren was sent to the AHL because the Sharks felt that he needed to get more playing time.

"He needs to play some hockey. He missed a year, we weren’t using him on a regular basis," Sharks coach Todd McLellan said. "We looked at our schedule the next little bit, and we probably weren’t going to use him on this road trip. We go into an All-Star break, and then we’re into February. For a guy that hasn’t played a lot, for his own career benefit, he needs to go play some hockey right now." McLaren has played in seven games with San Jose and another seven games in the AHL this season.

Frazer McLaren cleared waivers and is on his way back to Worcester of the AHL.

The Sharks have re-called John McCarthy to take his place.

Frazer McLaren played in his first NHL game of the season on Monday.

McLaren had missed the start of the season with a hip injury and had spent two weeks with Worcester of the AHL rehabbing, earlier in the month. He had a minor penalty for unsportsman-like conduct with no other stats in only 4:35 minutes of action. McLaren has a goal and five assists in 33 career NHL games so his fantasy value is zero.

Frazer McLaren might make his season debut on Monday.

Michal Handzus (illness) is unavailable, so there is an opening. McLaren recently completed a conditioning stint, but he hasn't played in an NHL game since November 18th, 2010. "The concern about putting Frazer in the lineup is that we’re 20 games in," said Sharks coach Todd McLellan. "It’s not exhibition season and it’s not even that first phase of games where the younger inexperienced players shine, and the game finally catches up. So, that’s a concern that he hasn’t played in so long."

The Sharks have re-called Frazer McLaren from his conditioning stint in Worcester.

He had been sent to the Sharks' AHL affiliate to get into game shape following a hip injury. We're not sure what his role will be going forward, though. A fourth-line gig is the best he can hope for.
