Travis Morin missed Friday's skate due to an illness.
This is just a FYI as whether or not he misses a skate in late September isn't much of a concern for anyone. He's competing for a spot on the team after recording 15 goals and 54 points in 63 AHL contests in 2015-16. Sep 23 - 12:21 PM

The Dallas Stars placed forward Travis Morin on waivers on Saturday.

Morin, 31, failed to score a point in six games with the Stars last season. He was productive at the AHL level, however, generated 63 points in as many contests for the Texas Stars.

Dallas has recalled Travis Morin from Texas of the AHL in time for Saturday night's contest against Colorado.

The 31-year-old Morin leads Texas in scoring with 40 points in 39 games and may get a chance to see if he can produce a little at the NHL level given Dallas' rash of injuries up front. The veteran may have some short term value but really isn't worth rostering in the long run.

Travis Morin will miss the AHL's All-Star game because of a lower body injury.

Texas Stars' coach Derek Laxdal confirmed the news. Morin suffered the injury during Friday's game but he played through it on Saturday. Morin has missed the AHL All-Star game twice. First because of a call-up with Dallas, and now because of the injury. The 31-year-old has no points in five games in the NHL this season.

Travis Morin has inked a two-way, two-year contract extension with Dallas.

Morin has 14 goals and 31 points in 30 AHL contests this season. The 31-year-old is a career minor leaguer who might get the odd, brief stint in the NHL going forward.

Travis Morin has been sent to AHL Texas.

Morin has been a healthy scratch for five straight games, so this doesn't come as a surprise. He has no points and a plus-one rating in five contests with Dallas in 2014-15.

Travis Morin will once again be a healthy scratch Monday night versus the Rangers.

Morin will sit out his second straight game for the Stars Monday night. He has only played in five games this season and has yet to register a point. Newly called up Jamie Oleksiak will also be a healthy scratch Monday.

Travis Morin and Cameron Gaunce will be healthy scratches Saturday night against St. Louis.

Morin has played in five games for the Stars this year without recording a point while Gaunce has yet to crack the lineup this season. Both players are not worthy of a fantasy spot on your roster.

Travis Morin has been called up by Dallas.

He leads the Texas Stars and is tied for fourth in the AHL with 24 points in 23 games. Morin will be an option for Saturday's match against New Jersey.

Dallas believes Travis Morin will get plenty of chances to play in the NHL in 2014-15 as a minor-league call up.

He was passed over for promotions a year ago, while excelling in the minors. He was named the MVP of the playoffs and the regular season last season in the AHL. Dustin Jeffrey and Chris Mueller have left the organization, so the Stars might be more inclined to bring up Morin than one of the younger guys in the minors. Brett Ritchie, Radek Faksa, Curtis McKenzie and Scott Glennie will be considerations for Dallas as well.

Travis Morin has been selected as the 2014 Calder Cup Playoff MVP.

Morin was also the regular season MVP in 2013-14. He had nine goals and 22 points in 21 playoff games to lead the Texas Stars to the Calder Cup. He's clearly one of the best players in the AHL, but it's probably too late for the 30-year-old to earn a regular spot with an NHL team.

After being named the AHL MVP, Travis Morin is continuing to shine in the playoffs.

Morin has four goals and 15 points in 16 postseason games to lead the Texas Stars to the Calder Cup Final. They'll play against the St. John's IceCaps. At the age of 30, it's unlikely that Morin will ever be a factor in fantasy leagues, but he did get a taste of the NHL with Dallas this season, recording an assist in four games.

Travis Morin has been named the AHL's most valuable player.

Morin had 32 goals and 87 points in 65 games with the Texas Stars in 2013-14. While he's excelled at the AHL-level, the 30-year-old forward isn't expected to ever be worth owning in standard fantasy leagues. He has an assist in seven career NHL games.
