He won't require surgery after sustaining a high-ankle sprain late in the 2013 campaign. Jokinen had a disappointing first year with the Jets after he was brought in with the hope of anchoring the team's top line. | 3 | Alexander Burmistrov ActiveAccording to two league sources, Alexander Burmistrov has no intention of re-signing with the Winnipeg Jets. He is slated for restricted free agency. Burmistrov reportedly wanted to be dealt at the trade deadline and despite discussions with Ottawa, Buffalo and the New York Islanders, the Jets were unsuccessful in moving him. His agent, Mark Gandler, wouldn't say much about the matter, but he did say that "Alex is not going to sign in the KHL." Burmistrov hasn't been very productive in three seasons, with 23 goals and 35 assists in 194 career contests, but he's still just 21 years of age so it might be too early to label him as a bust. | 4 | Mike Santorelli ActiveMike Santorelli scored again in Tuesday's shootout. He is 10 for 19 in his career during the NHL's breakaway competition, which gives him some value to the Winnipeg Jets down the stretch. "I'm glad it went in," Santorelli said. "I'll help any way I can. I just kind of read off the goalie. I've got a couple of moves. I just go in thinking of one and take whatever. Today my was first one but I was a little bit nervous. I'm glad we got the extra point." The Jets are tied with the New York Rangers for the final playoff spot so any extra points they can muster in shootouts could be the difference down the stretch. He scored just 11 points in 72 games last season, but registered 151 hits and 83 penalty minutes. "I'm 29 and I feel like there's a lot of hockey left in my body and I'm as energized as ever," Thorburn said. "Maybe it'll be that this break will be a blessing in disguise, that guys like myself, crashing and banging every night, will have rested their wounds and when it's time to get back at it, we'll go full tilt." "We saw him play in a lot of different situations with eight defensemen in the lineup any given night. Jacob played on the first power play in all the games that we watched," Cheveldayoff said. "He was given a lot of responsibility in that regard. He has a very good slapshot. The team was looking for some chemistry in some areas and found it. I think their power play was pretty good and from that standpoint, it was pretty good to see Jacob be a part of it. Not having played for an extended period of time or ever at the men's level, I think there was a good transition period for him. It looked like he was more comfortable every time he played. He's had a wonderful opportunity given to him and he took full advantage of it."
