Michael Stone (knee) has recovered to the point where he can walk without wearing a brace.
Stone underwent surgery on his ACL and MCL in April. He's not sure when he'll be able to resume skating, but he is at least making progress. "The fact that I feel the way I feel right now," he said, "I think is a good sign." He might end up missing the beginning of the season. Jun 7 - 8:42 AM

Defenseman Michael Stone is recovering well from his knee surgery earlier in the month.

Stone set career bests with 30 assists and 36 points so his injury to his ACL and MCL put a damper on the end of the season. "The situation sucks, but I’m not going to feel sorry for myself," Stone said. "This happens to a lot of people. I was lucky enough to have it happen near the end of the season. Now I have a full summer to get it fixed." Stone could miss the beginning of the 2016-17 season as recovery time is usually at least six months.
Apr 17 - 6:50 AM

Coyotes defenseman Michael Stone will miss at least six months after undergoing surgery to repair the ACL and MCL in his left knee.

Multi-ligament knee injuries can be devastating for athletes and usually require a lengthy rehab. "They went in and fixed things up, and everything went well with the surgery," coach Tippett said. "But it's a long-term (recovery)." Stone suffered his injury when he got his left leg tangled up with Michael Raffl of the Flyers on March 26. Stone was having a career year with 36 points in 75 games played, surpassing his career high of 21 set in 2013-14.

Michael Stone (knee) is undergoing some tests, but it looks like he is done for the season.

"It's longer-term than the season has left in it," coach Dave Tippett said. "I would say he would be done for the season." It's time to let the defensman go if you are in a single-season league.
Mar 28 - 2:40 PM

Michael Stone suffered a knee injury Saturday against Philadelphia.

He scored his sixth goal of the season in the contest to extend his point streak to three straight games. However, there may not be more points coming as it could be a long-term injury. Stone might be done for the rest of the season.
Mar 28 - 2:32 PM

Michael Stone suffered a leg injury late in Saturday's game and did not return.

Stone ended up with the game winner but was helped off the ice late in the third. He is having quite a surprisingly good season with six goals and 36 points. There was no update on his status after the game so consider him day-to-day for now.

Michael Stone scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory versus Philadelphia on Saturday.

Shane Doan netted the Coyotes' other marker. Antoine Vermette, Alex Tanguay, Anthony Duclair, and Martin Hanzal each registered an assist Saturday night.
Mar 27 - 1:34 AM

Michael Stone's career season continues to shine.

Stone picked up his fifth goal plus his 28th assists during Thursday's 3-1 win over the Sharks. He also got in the way of another four shots. If you're in need of a do-it-all blue liner down the stretch in your playoffs, (the other) Stone might wonders for you.

Stone has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last five games. He has four goals and 27 points in 60 contests in 2015-16.
Feb 24 - 8:57 AM

With his pair of assists during Friday's 4-1 win over the Flames, Michael Stone set a new career high in points.

Stone's now up to 19 assists, an ever-increasing new high, and 22 points on the year. Though mostly known for his shot-blocking ability (he had another pair, by the way) in fantasy circles, annual improvement like this could land him real attention in due time.
Feb 13 - 12:11 AM

Michael Stone recorded two assists in a 4-3 overtime win on Tuesday.

Stone has three goals and 18 points in 42 games this season. Given that his previous career-high was 21 points, it seems safe to say that he'll shatter it this season as long as he stays healthy.
Jan 13 - 6:08 AM

Michael Stone recorded an assist in a 7-5 loss Thursday night.

Stone now has two goals and 11 points in 31 games this season. That's not particularly impressive in standard fantasy leagues, but it does put him on course to comfortably best his previous career-high of 21 points.

Michael Stone hasn't recorded a point in his last six games.

Stone has a goal and three assists in 15 contests this season. He's got a career-high of 21 points and if he surpasses that in 2015-16, it likely won't be by much.

Michael Stone had a great night on Thursday, however the Coyotes fell to the Wild 4-3.

Stone scored his first goal of the season, off a nice wrister but it was too little too late in the third period. He also collected two more shots, a hit, and three blocks during his 27:14 of ice time including nearly five minutes on special teams. Oddly, only 46 seconds of which was on the kill.
