Michael Stone had a great night on Thursday, however the Coyotes fell to the Wild 4-3.

Stone scored his first goal of the season, off a nice wrister but it was too little too late in the third period. He also collected two more shots, a hit, and three blocks during his 27:14 of ice time including nearly five minutes on special teams. Oddly, only 46 seconds of which was on the kill.

Michael Stone has played very well alongside Oliver Ekman-Larsson and is now part of the Coyotes top defensive pairing.

The duo were good together last season and have shown in training camp that they mesh well together. "They can play against top lines. They can be shutdown. They can be offensive," associate coach Jim Playfair said. "They can play both side of special teams. They’re a real solid pair, and they’re young. They’re going to get better." Stone had three goals and 18 points with 60 penalty minutes last season but if his offense comes around, he is a viable late round pick in deep pools.
