Jason Demers believes the Dallas Stars are more resilient than they were one year ago.

"I think we're more resilient," said Demers. "We've really done a great job in third periods. We made some mistakes in the first two periods, but we really seemed to clamp down hard, so that's a huge thing to be doing at the start of the year. It's good that we have this third-period resilience right now." Dallas has a record of 9-2-0 this season.

Jason Demers has served his two-game suspension.

Demers was punished for elbowing Nick Bonino in the face. "I won’t give my thoughts about what I thought about the ruling, but it won’t change anything for me," Demers said. "It was nice to see the boys get a win last night, and it’s nice to come back in after we’ve got a little bit of momentum from that game. It’s going to be fun. There’s going to be a lot of energy, so it’s a good game to hop back into." He's projected to play alongside Johnny Oduya on Thursday.
Oct 28 - 6:05 PM

Jason Demers has been suspended for two games for elbowing Nick Bonino in the face.

The NHL felt Demers' elbowing was worthy of supplemental discipline because of the "reckless nature in which it was executed and the force with which it was delivered." It was also argued that Demers' actions couldn't be considered reflective or defensive. Demers had no prior history of fines or suspensions and Bonino appears to have escaped without a significant injury. Demers will be eligible to return on Oct. 29.

Jason Demers will have a hearing after elbowing Nick Bonino in the face during Thursday's contest.

Demers received a five-minute major and game misconduct for his actions. Bonino left the game, although the incident occurred late in the third period, so it's hard to read too much into that. Bonino did show up for Friday's practice and isn't dealing with any lingering effects, so it sounds like he escaped without a serious injury.
