Brian Lashoff made his season debut Sunday.

He played in 75 games with the Red Wings last year, but he's had a difficult time cracking the lineup in 2014-15. Lashoff got to play in Sunday's shootout loss to Buffalo because of an injury to Kyle Quincey. He logged 14:23 of ice time and finished with a plus-1 rating.
Nov 3 - 10:06 AM

There is a very strong possibility that Brian Lashoff will draw into the Red Wing lineup Sunday against Buffalo.

If Kyle Quincey is unable to play due to an ankle injury, Lashoff will likely be his replacement. Even if he does play, Lashoff has no fantasy value.
Nov 1 - 10:08 AM

Brian Lashoff may find himself as Detroit's seventh defenseman this season.

He played 75 games last year, most of which paired with Jakub Kindl, and now he'll compete with Kindl for the sixth spot on the blueline at training camp. The stay-at-home defender posted 93 blocks and 65 hits, along with six points in 2013-14.

Brian Lashoff, who left after one period Thursday night due to the stomach flu, is available for Saturday's contest against the Senators.

He seems to be feeling much better and should be able to suit up if needed. Lashoff has no fantasy value at the moment, however.

Brian Lashoff has been taking time from Brendan Smith on Detroit's blueline.

The Red Wings are 3-0 with Lashoff in the lineup and Smith as a healthy scratch. Lashoff has accounted for one assist, four penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating this year. He played 31 games for Detroit last season.

Brian Lashoff is likely to open the 2013-14 season as Detroit's seventh defenseman.

He suited up in 31 games with Detroit last year where he compiled five points, 44 hits, 43 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating. Lashoff projects to be a stay-at-home defender at the NHL level, but the Wings like to utilize puck movers on their blueline so that leaves him as an odd man out for now.

Brian Lashoff was minus-one in 20 minutes of action Saturday.

Coach Mike Babcock put Lashoff into the lineup to replace the injured Dan DeKeyser as he felt Lashoff was a better fit than veterans Ian White and Carlo Colaiacovo who sat in the press box. Lashoff was second on the Red Wings in time on ice, trailing only Niklas Kronwall. Look for Lashoff to play again in Game 4 based on his ice time.

The Red Wings have decided to use rookie defenseman Brian Lashoff in their playoff game against the visiting Anaheim Ducks tonight.

It turns out that Brian Lashoff was not sent to the minors on Monday.

Coach Mike Babcock said that Lashoff was going to the minors on Monday to get in some playing time but the Red Wings had already used up all four callups allowed after the April 3 deadline so it was not possible to send him down and recall him without three injuries on the blueline. "It was just a misunderstanding with Mike Babcock," GM Ken Holland said Monday. "I agree with him that we'd rather have Lashoff playing in the minors than not playing in Detroit, but the rules don't allow it. We don't want to not be able to recall him unless we have three injuries."

The Detroit Red Wings have sent Brian Lashoff to the minors.

"Right now with the amount of guys we have, it's better for me to play games than sitting and watching," Lashoff said. "It'll be good to go down there. After the lockout (ended) they kept playing well and it'll be fun to go down there and go into the playoffs. "I have an itch to play. I've played almost 70 games already (including with Grand Rapids during the lockout) and not playing right now is a little odd for me. It'll be good to get some games." Lashoff has a goal and five points in 31 games with a minus-10.

The Detroit Red Wings have sent defenseman Brian Lashoff to the minors.

It looks like a paper move according to the Detroit News as rosters will be expanded on Wednesday after the trade deadline. Lashoff has only a goal and four assists with a minus-nine rating in 30 games with the Red Wings so he should not be on your roster.

Brian Lashoff could be sent to AHL Grand Rapids in the near future.

Lashoff has done a fine job with Detroit this season, but if Carlo Colaiacovo (shoulder) returns on Sunday as planned, then Detroit will have nine healthy defensemen. Lashoff is just one of two blueliners on the active roster on a two-way contract. The other is Brendan Smith, who is expected to spend the full season with Detroit.
