Nov 9 - 9:25 AM

Matt Beleskey picked up his second goal of the season in Saturday's 3-1 win over Tampa Bay.

Beleskey's shot certainly should've been stopped, but it wasn't, ending his five game goalless drought. Beleskey was brought in to score, but he has just nine shots on the season and three games without any. However he just threw four at the net, suggesting he could be beginning to turn things around a bit. He now has five points on the season.

Oct 27 - 9:53 AM

Matt Beleskey (upper body) is getting closer to returning to Boston's lineup.

"I feel better than yesterday, so that’s a good sign," said Beleskey. "You hate watching your own team play…it’s a bad feeling. So I can’t wait to get back out there." The 27-year-old has missed Boston's last two games because of the injury. Beleskey has practiced for three consecutive days.
Oct 24 - 5:19 PM

Matt Beleskey (upper body) was not able to play Friday night against the Islanders.

He did skate Friday morning with his teammates but he's still dealing with some type of upper body injury and couldn't answer the bell Friday night. For those who drafted the former Duck forward with the hope of him being an effective first-liner in Boston, disappointment must be creeping in. Be patient a little longer before considering cutting him loose, though. We have a feeling Beleskey may rebound alongside David Krejci once he regains his health.
Oct 24 - 10:05 AM

Matt Beleskey (upper body) took part in Friday's practice.

Beleskey missed Wednesday's game and wasn't on the ice Thursday due to the ailment. It's still not clear when he'll be able to return.

Oct 22 - 1:50 PM

Matt Beleskey will not play Wednesday against Philadelphia due to an upper-body injury.

He didn't participate in the morning skate and should be considered day-to-day at this time. Beleskey has one goal and one assist in five games this year.
Oct 21 - 11:32 AM

Matt Beleskey has been credited with just four shots in five games.

He earned an assist and a goal in his first two contests with the Bruins, but he hasn't picked up a point in his last three outings. Beleskey has been alongside a red hot David Krejci, who has four goals and nine points, which should be able to help him end his sluggish start.
Oct 20 - 9:38 AM

Matt Beleskey wants to prove his 2014-15 numbers weren't a flash in the pan.

He registered career highs last year with 22 goals and 32 points in 65 games as a member of the Anaheim Ducks. "I've always thought of myself as a 20-goal scorer," he said. "I know I can score goals. It's just a matter of having that confidence, sticking with it and doing the right things, getting in the right spots. Last year it paid off. I'm going to try to make it happen again." Beleskey is motivated to reward the Bruins for their confidence in him. He has been skating alongside David Krejci at training camp, so he'll get plenty of opportunities to prove his worth.
Sep 21 - 9:55 AM

Matt Beleskey is anxiously waiting to attend his first training camp with the Boston Bruins.

"I could end the summer right now and start camp tomorrow," Beleskey said. "I'm ready to go. This is always the hardest part of the summer, when you've been training and you're kind of sick of that. I just want to get out there and start playing." He already feels comfortable in his new city and feels he can do better than the 22 goals and 32 points he produced last season.
Aug 17 - 6:05 PM

Matt Beleskey is happy he ended up in Boston.

Beleskey inked a five-year, $19 million contract with the Bruins as an unrestricted free agent. "I looked at their team and I talked with my agent and my family, and it's always been a place that I've liked," he said. "The Big Bad Bruins play that physical style, and they've always been a team that I've liked watching. Cam Neely (currently the team president) is in the front office, and watching him play was always exciting. They've always been a team I’ve been drawn to." Beleskey's physical game certainly meshes with that philosophy. With Milan Lucic gone, he also has an opportunity to play on the Bruins' top line.
Jul 8 - 9:33 AM

Matt Beleskey might end up playing on the top line in Boston.

The Bruins signed Beleskey to a five-year, $19 million contract over the summer. There team has a sizable hole in its lineup after trading Milan Lucic, but Beleskey might be able to partially fill it while playing alongside David Krejci. Don't get too excited though. Beleskey often played alongside Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry in Anaheim and still finished with a modest 32 points in 65 contests.
