Matt Beleskey scored a goal in a 4-3 shootout loss against the Calgary Flames.
Beleskey only has one assist this season, but he's found the back of the net eight times. He's probably not going to maintain his current 14.0 shooting percentage though given how he's done historically. Nov 19 - 8:24 AM

Matt Beleskey scored a goal in Anaheim's 3-2 shootout loss on Friday.

It was the second straight game where Beleskey found the back of the net. It's been an unusual season for him because he has seven goals and no assists in 15 contests. That's quite a deviation from the norm for a player that's never scored more than 11 goals in a single season. Don't count on Beleskey to even come close to maintaining his current goal scoring pace for the entire season.
Nov 8 - 9:22 AM

Matt Beleskey scored his sixth goal of the season on the power-play in a 3-2 overtime loss to Anaheim on Tuesday.

Beleskey got the Ducks rally started with a power-play goal set up nicely by Ryan Kesler and Sami Vatanen in the second period. The big winger also had five shots and stepped up his play with the absence of Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. Emerson Etem scored the other goal for the Ducks in the loss. Beleskey has six goals on the season but still no assists.
Nov 6 - 2:10 AM

Matt Beleskey scored the only goal for Anaheim in their 4-1 loss to San Jose on Sunday.

Beleskey has been a pleasant surprise for the Sharks so far this season. The goal was his fifth of the season. The Ducks were never really in this game, as they found themselves down 4-0 when Beleskey finally beat Antti Niemi in the third period. Anaheim was due to have a bad game, as the loss snaps a seven-game winning streak. The Ducks are now 7-2-0 this season and are still very much a Stanley Cup contender.
Oct 26 - 11:08 PM

Matt Beleskey registered his third goal of the season for Anaheim in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout victory over the Flyers.

Beleskey is occupying Patrick Maroon's spot alongside Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf on the Ducks top line and is taking full advantage of the opportunity while it lasts. Devante Smith-Pelly and Tim Jackman were the other goal scorers for Anaheim in the win.

Matt Beleskey will play on Anaheim's top line Tuesday.

This is great news for Beleskey in the short-term, but it's not likely a permanent spot for him. It took injuries to Dany Heatley and Patrick Maroon to get Beleskey on the first line and he might lose that spot once one or both of them are healthy.
Oct 14 - 1:32 PM

Matt Beleskey scored a goal in Anaheim's 5-1 victory over Buffalo Monday afternoon.

Beleskey has two goals in three games this season. After Patrick Maroon (lower body) left Monday's contest, Beleskey took some shifts with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf. That's a big opportunity for Beleskey and one that should give him at least a short-term boost in production.
Oct 14 - 9:42 AM

Matt Beleskey has been taking shifts with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf on Monday since Patrick Maroon left the game.

It remains to be seen how long Maroon, who probably has a knee injury, will be sidelined for and even if it's a long-term injury, there's no guarantee that Beleskey will stay on the first line beyond this contest. All the same, it potentially a big opportunity for Beleskey. This situation is worth monitoring closely.
Oct 13 - 5:17 PM

Matt Beleskey has fully recovered from the torn abdominal muscle that ended his season during the playoffs in May.

Beleskey was reported to have a lower body injury at the time and it's now known that it was his abdominal muscle. Surgery was given some consideration at the time but it was decided that rehab was the best option. There is still a touch of pain and Beleskey still isn't 100 percent sure when forced to battle for the puck. "Mentality I'm just more cautious," Beleskey said. "That split second on the ice can be your moment of cautiousness, and it can cost you. I haven't had anything or done anything where I was worried about injuring myself. I've come back from a few injuries in my career, so it's a process." Beleskey is a bottom six forward this season and as a result has little fantasy value.
Sep 20 - 6:26 AM

Matt Beleskey (lower body) will miss the remainder of the second round.

Beleskey hasn't played since May 8 due to the ailment. He has two goals and four points in five playoff games.
May 14 - 2:11 PM

Matt Beleskey (lower body) didn't participate in Tuesday's optional skate.

He isn't expected to practice with the Ducks on Wednesday either prior to Game 6. Beleskey has been limited to five games during the 2014 playoffs due to injury and he hasn't played in the last two contests.
May 13 - 4:57 PM

The Anaheim Ducks announced that forward Matt Beleskey won't play against the Los Angeles Kings in Game 5.

Beleskey also missed Game 4 with a lower-body injury. The winger has four points in five playoff games in 2014, although he was unable to score in his last two appearances. He generated 24 points and 64 PIM in 55 regualr season contests in 2013-14, making him a somewhat tough player to peg value-wise heading into next season. At 25, it's quite likely that he has some room to improve, as well.
May 11 - 3:41 PM

Matt Beleskey (lower body) won't be available to play Saturday in Game 4.

He didn't take part in the team's morning skate. Beleskey was injured in Thursday's 3-2 win over Los Angeles. He's productive for the Ducks in the postseason, with two goals and two assists, but he's been limited to five games due to injury.
May 10 - 1:49 PM

Matt Beleskey is questionable to be in the Anaheim lineup today when the Ducks square off against the Los Angeles Kings for the fourth game of their second-round playoff series.

That was the word Friday from Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau, who initially classified Beleskey as doubtful. Beleskey was hurt in the Ducks' 3-2 win Thursday when he took a hit from Kings captain Dustin Brown. Beleskey has two goals and four points in five playoff games.
May 10 - 9:29 AM
