Curtis McElhinney left Thursday's contest due to a lower-body injury, prompting Mike McKenna to play in an NHL game for the first time since Dec. 2, 2010. McElhinney's injury isn't believed to be serious, so McKenna's time as the Blue Jackets' de facto starter might be brief.
