Jamie McBain had two assists for the Kings on Saturday.
McBain has been a healthy scratch on a few occasions this season as it was his first game since November 29. The Kings are pretty deep on the blueline, even with Slava Voynov under suspension. It was the 11th multi-point game of 26-year-old's career and he now has a goal and five points in 10 games and a goal and four points in his last four games played. Dec 21 - 8:04 AM

Date:

Jamie McBain and Jordan Nolan will be healthy scratches in Montreal on Friday night.

With four points in 27 combined games between McBain and Nolan, it's no wonder why they're sitting once again. Neither are of any fantasy value, even in the deepest of leagues.

Dec 12 - 7:18 PM

Jamie McBain is expected to be a healthy scratch in his return to Buffalo on Tuesday night.

It doesn't look like he'll get a rare treat in skating against a former club. McBain spent 2013-14 in Buffalo, skating in 69 games and scoring 17 points after coming north from Carolina in a June, 2013 trade for Andrej Sekera.

Dec 9 - 6:37 PM

Jamie McBain and Robyn Regehr were defensive partners on Friday in practice.

The duo should be together for Saturday's game against the Ducks provided that Regehr is healthy enough to go since he has missed the last three games with a lower body injury. The Kings are using McBain who signed a one year deal earlier in the week, as Alex Martinez is out with a broken finger while Slava Voynov is still out due to suspension. The 26-year-old signed with Omsk of the KHL in October after playing with the Buffalo Sabres last season as he had six goals and 11 assists in 69 NHL games last season.

Nov 15 - 7:26 AM

Jamie McBain has inked a one-year, two-way deal with the Los Angeles Kings.

McBain will make $100,000 annually if he plays in the AHL and comes with a cap hit of $550,000 at the NHL level. The fact that his cap hit is the league minimum is critical because the Kings have almost no cap flexibility at the moment.
Nov 11 - 4:05 PM

Jamie McBain practiced with the Kings on Monday.

He appeared in five games with Los Angeles' AHL affiliate in Manchester, where he posted a goal and two assists, on a professional tryout and according to reports he'll get a contract with the big club.
Nov 10 - 6:08 PM

Jamie McBain signed with the KHL's Omsk.

McBain played with the Sabres last season, getting 17 points in 69 games. Perhaps he’ll try to rebuild his value for a return to the NHL. He’s still only 26 years old.
Oct 4 - 9:10 PM

Jamie McBain will seek to find a new team after being released by the Coyotes on Saturday.

The 26-year-old blueliner was in camp on a tryout basis. He had six goals and 17 points in 69 games with the Sabres last year. McBain is still a young player, so it's likely a team could use him as NHL depth -- a seventh defenseman? -- or slot him on an AHL roster.

Sep 27 - 9:13 PM

Defenseman Jamie McBain will be present at Coyotes training camp on a professional tryout.

'Tis the season for PTOs so you can expect to hear about a number of players attending NHL camps without the guarantee of a full-time job over the next few weeks. McBain will be joined in Phoenix camp by defenseman Matt Smaby and forward Matt Kassian.
Sep 9 - 7:42 PM

Jamie McBain will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

The Sabres chose not to give him and goalie Connor Knappa qualifying offers, so they can test the market on Tuesday. McBain appeared in 69 games with Buffalo during the 2013-14 season and he collected 17 points.
Jun 30 - 3:23 PM

Jamie McBain scored but the New York Islanders beat his Buffalo Sabres 4-3 (SO) on Sunday.

McBain finishes with six goals and 17 points in 2013-14. He's still hoping to regain his form from Carolina when he generated 30 points in 2010-11 and 27 in 2011-12.
Apr 13 - 9:02 PM

Jamie McBain buried his fifth goal of the season in Buffalo's 3-2 loss to the Red Wings on Friday night.

McBain snapped a six game pointless drought to score his 16th point in 64 games this season. McBain is a career-low -14 this season on a weak Sabres team.
Apr 4 - 11:26 PM

Jamie McBain scored his fourth goal of the season in Sunday's loss to Vancouver.

He was credited with his first marker since Jan. 9 after his centering pass hit Kevin Bieksa and entered the net. McBain has 15 points on the year and two in his past two games.
Mar 24 - 9:52 AM

Jamie McBain was a healthy scratch Tuesday.

He didn't play well in Monday's loss at Pittsburgh. "I just want to see better," interim coach Ted Nolan said. "As with every player on this team you've got to be better. There are a couple others in the same boat but the bottom line is we have to be better. No other way to put it. Especially with the team we have. We can't afford one or two bad blunders and turnovers and not concentrating." McBain has 10 points and a minus-5 rating in 39 outings with Buffalo this campaign.
Jan 29 - 8:20 AM

Jamie McBain scored the only Buffalo goal in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Panthers Thursday night.

McBain's goal was his third of the season and with only nine points he's not worthy of a roster spot in any league. Matt D'Agostini and Steve Ott picked up helpers on the tally.
