Patrick Mullen has re-signed with Ottawa to another a one-year, two-way contract worth $600K in the NHL.
The deal is actually a slight step down from his previous $700K NHL salary. However, Mullen is a career minor leaguer. He'll be entering his third season with AHL Binghamton after having his best season since 2011-12 with five goals and 29 points in 54 games. The Vancouver Canucks have shipped Patrick Mullen to Ottawa in exchange for Jeff Costello.

Mullen, 27, has seven goals and 20 points in 46 games with the Utica Comets this season. He hasn't made his NHL debut yet.

The Vancouver Canucks have signed Patrick Mullen.

No terms have been announced. Mullen played last season for the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL where he had 13 goals and 41 points in 69 games. He is just a depth defenseman as the undrafted University of Denver product is already 26 years of age and has not yet played a game in the NHL.

Mullen had three goals and 20 points in 67 contests with the AHL Manchester Monarchs in 2010-11. He isn't expected to have any fantasy value next season.

Patrick Mullen has signed a two-year, entry-level deal with the Los Angeles Kings.

Mullen had four goals and 21 assists in 38 NCAA games this season with Denver University. Over the span of his four season NCAA career, Mullen had 81 points and 148 penalty minutes in 152 games. He spent a significant portion of his NCAA career playing as a defenseman and was the top scoring blueliner on his team in 2007-08 with 22 points.
