Brad Thiessen has agreed to terms on a minor-league deal with Pittsburgh's AHL farm club in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

In 41 AHL games last season, Thiessen posted a 23-15-2 record with a 2.82 goals-against average and a .887 save percentage. He also made his NHL debut on Feb. 26 with a 22-save win over Columbus. Thiessen won three contests in five appearances, but a poor game against Ottawa, where he allowed eight goals on 28 shots, sabotaged his statistics.

Brad Thiessen has re-signed with the Penguins for one season.

The Pens' third-string goalie behind Marc-Andre Fleury and Tomas Vokoun was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent Sunday at noon. The deal will pay Thiessen $525,000 if he is with the Penguins but much less if he plays in the AHL.
