Brian Strait has signed a one-year, $600,000 contract with the Winnipeg Jets.

That's down from Strait's previous three-year contract worth roughly $2.3 million. He had six points and 31 penalty minutes in 52 games with the Islanders in 2015-16.

Brian Strait will be a healthy scratch in Thursday's game against the Colorado Avalanche.

The 27-year-old has been scratched in nine of New York's last 10 games. He has two assists and a minus-3 rating in 21 games this season. Eric Boulton and Steve Bernier will also watch from the press box.
