Date:

Brayden Schenn scored twice for the Flyers, but those goals weren’t enough in their 6-3 loss to Montreal on Saturday night.

Schenn entered the league with all kinds of promise, but he’s yet to live up to it. Perhaps he’s starting to dip into that well of ability now? The 23-year-old has points in five straight games, with seven over that span. He has six goals and seven assists on the season. Matt Read got the other marker, while Jakub Voracek chipped in with two helpers.
Nov 15 - 10:33 PM

Brayden Schenn had two assists in Philadelphia's 4-1 win over Florida.

Schenn has recorded at least a point in five of his last six games. He now has three goals and six assists in 13 contests in 2014-15.
Nov 7 - 9:59 AM

Brayden Schenn recorded an assist in Philadelphia's 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay.

Schenn is now on a three-game point streak. He has a chance to significantly surpass his 2013-14 point total of 41, but obviously he has a long road ahead of him. That being said, he's off to a respectable start with three goals and six points in 10 contests.
Oct 31 - 11:12 AM

Brayden Schenn scored the game-winning goal for Philadelphia in overtime to solidify a 3-2 win over Los Angeles.

Schenn's third of the season gives him a goal in back-to-back games, but still brings his point total to just five in nine contests. Michael Raffl and Chris Vandevelde also scored goals for the Flyers while Jakub Voracek handed out a pair of assists in the win.
Oct 28 - 10:11 PM

The Philadelphia Flyers are looking for a veteran defenseman but every team wants Brayden Schenn in return.

The Flyers are hurting on the blueline with injuries to Braydon Coburn, Andrew MacDonald and the long-term injury to Kimmo Timonen and really did not want to expose one of their young blueliners from the AHL but with everyone wanting Schenn in return, the Flyers decided to recall Shayne Gostisbehere instead. The Flyers are still very high on the 23-year-old Schenn. He has a goal and two assists in seven games this season.
Oct 25 - 8:55 AM

Brayden Schenn was demoted from the first to the second line on Saturday.

After playing a couple of games with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek, Schenn found himself on a newly formed second line with Wayne Simmonds and Vincent Lecavalier. Simmonds spot on the third line was taken by R.J. Umberger who lined up with Matt Read and Sean Couturier.
Oct 12 - 9:11 AM

Brayden Schenn played on the Flyers' top line in their season opener.

The line unfortunately wasn't particularly effective on Wednesday as they combined for just two shots on goal in Philadelphia's 2-1 loss to Boston. If Schenn gets more chances to play with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek though, then this might be his breakout season. Schenn had 20 goals and 41 points in 82 games in 2013-14.
Oct 9 - 8:50 AM

Brayden Schenn took over the top spot at center in training camp Saturday.

Schenn was playing on the left side on the top line but moved over to center with the injury suffered by Claude Giroux on Saturday. Michael Raffl took over Schenn's spot on the left side with R.J. Umberger moving up the left wing depth chart to play alongside Vincent Lecavalier and Jason Akeson on the second unit. Expect Schenn to move back to the left side when Giroux returns to action in two-four weeks.
Sep 21 - 8:33 AM

Brayden Schenn is the front runner for the job as the first line left winger with the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Flyers dealt Scott Hartnell who played on the left side with Claude Giroux and Jacob Voracek on the first line. The Flyers are deep down the middle with Giroux, Schenn, Vincent Lecavalier, Sean Couturier as well as rookie Scott Laughton so it makes sense that someone moves to the wing. Others being considered are: Michael Raffl, R.J. Umberger and Lecavalier. Schenn had 20 goals and 41 points last season and his numbers would jump exponentially if he gets the gig on the first line.
Sep 14 - 9:19 AM

Philadelphia expects more from Brayden Schenn this season.

"He's got a real gift at putting the puck in the net," GM Ron Hextall said. "He scored 20 goals, which at this stage of the game that's a lot of goals. But we still think there's more there and there's more growth. I think the biggest thing is the consistency part." Schenn is considered a candidate to play on the Flyers' top line this year, but he may fit in better as a second-line center. He set career-highs in goals (20), assists (21) and points (41) in 82 games last season.
Aug 8 - 4:20 PM

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Brayden Schenn to a two-year/$5 million contract.

Schenn will earn $2.25 million in 2014-15 and $2.75 million in the final campaign of the deal. He was set to become a restricted free agent this summer. Schenn has the potential to make this contract look like a steal, but he hasn't exactly lived up to that potential yet and under the circumstances, this seems like a fair agreement for both sides. Schenn had 20 goals and 41 points in 82 games in 2013-14.
Jun 23 - 6:32 PM

Brayden Schenn is eligible to become a restricted free agent on July 1.

GM Ron Hextall has made the signing of Schenn his top priority but he and Schenn's agent Don Meehan, have yet to connect to discuss a contract. "I have not talked to him as of yet, but hopefully in the next few days we'll have our first discussion," Hextall said. "Brayden's our top priority in terms of wanting to get a guy signed, but there's no real timeline there where you say this has got to happen by July 15 or July 30. It's something that who knows how long it could go on." Schenn had 20 goals and 41 points in 2013-14 but is capable of a lot more.
Jun 15 - 8:50 AM

Getting Brayden Schenn under contract is a top priority for new Flyers GM Ron Hextall.

"Brayden Schenn would be our first priority," Hextall said Wednesday. "But he's restricted, so there's not a timeline there where you say, 'It's going to be done by this time.' Brayden's a good young player, and we'd like to get him under contract as soon as possible. But again, there's timelines there. It might be training camp, it might be July. I really can't say. But obviously he's a priority. When you're looking at our cap space, we've got to save some room." Schenn completed his entry-level deal this past season. He recorded 20 goals and 41 points in 82 games.
May 22 - 4:08 PM

Brayden Schenn will play for Canada at the World Hockey Championships.

In 82 games this season, he produced 20 goals and 41 points. Philadelphia teammate Matt Read has also been added to Canada's roster for the tournament.
