Brayden Schenn scored two goals to help the Philadelphia Flyers defeat the visiting Buffalo Sabres 5-2 on Sunday night.

Brayden Schenn will play Thursday after he was sent head-first into the boards on a dangerous hit from Washington's Tom Wilson on Tuesday.

"If I was limited or thinking I can't do this or can't do that, then I shouldn't be playing," he said. "It would just put me in a bad situation and everyone else in a bad situation. I feel good. I feel ready to go." He suffered some stiffness in his upper back and neck after the play and is thankful that it wasn't something worse. Brayden Schenn doesn't appear to harbor any ill will towards Tom Wilson despite Tuesday's hit into the end boards.

Schenn smashed into the boards head-first, but it looks like he managed to escape without anything more serious than a stiff neck. Wilson reached out to Schenn via a text message after the event. "He's a classy guy, and obviously, his intention wasn't to hurt me or hit me like that," Schenn said of Wilson. "Things happen quick out there."

Schenn doesn't appear to have a concussion despite colliding head-first into the end boards on Tuesday. However, he does have some stiffness in his neck, so he remains day-to-day.

Schenn has difficulty getting off the ice after the hit and the obvious concern was that he sustained a concussion. However, Schenn says that he's symptom free.

Brayden Schenn sustained a possible concussion during Tuesday's game.

Flyers GM Paul Holmgren called it an upper-body injury and added that the team would know more on Wednesday. Schenn was hurt when Washington's Tom Wilson charged into him in the second period. Schenn fell to the ice and initially couldn't get back on his skates when he tried to. He had to be helped off the ice.

Schenn is staying upbeat despite his recent struggles. "I think you start worrying and getting frustrated when the chances don’t come," Schenn said. "But eventually, the goals are going to come. I'm going to keep on working and getting to the net and getting to the hard areas, and one will go in there." He has seven goals and 18 points in 32 games in 2013-14.
