Brayden Schenn believes he's in game shape despite missing the start of the 2016-17 campaign while serving a suspension.
Schenn is eligible to return on Thursday. While he's been out, Schenn has being doing bag skates to stay ready. "He's got to be ready to go," Flyers coach Dave Hakstol said. "I know he's chomping at the bit. He's worked extremely hard. He's been a pretty productive part of our team in the role he plays, not just through preseason but the stretch of last year. He'll be an important player for us. We'll have to gauge a little bit where he's at game condition wise, but I expect that he will be just fine and will be ready to go in terms of his full role." Schenn will likely play alongside Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds, taking the spot vacated by the injured Michael Raffl. Oct 20 - 10:47 AM

Brayden Schenn will return from his suspension on Thursday night.

He is expected to slot back into the lineup on the top line with Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds when the Flyers host Anaheim. Michael Raffl was playing with Giroux and Simmonds, but he will miss 10-14 days with an upper-body injury. Schenn played during the preseason, but it may take him a few shifts to get back to game speed.
Oct 19 - 3:24 PM

Brayden Schenn has only one game left to serve in his three game suspension.

Schenn was suspended in the playoffs for a hit on the Capitals T.J. Oshie. He will miss Tuesday's contest in Chicago but will return for the Flyers home opener Thursday against Anaheim. The talented forward had 26 goals and 59 points last season and a return to those numbers are not out of the question.
Oct 17 - 8:26 AM

Brayden Schenn gave the Philadelphia Flyers a brief lead Saturday night with a second period, powerplay goal at the 8:42 minute mark, but it was not enough. The Flyers lost 4-3 to the Boston Bruins Saturday night.

As a Flyer, Schenn has scored 84 goals in 345 games. Last year was his best season yet, with 26 goals in 80 starts. Philadelphia’s other two goals were scored by Sean Couturier in the first period and Jordan Weal in the second.
Oct 2 - 12:23 AM

Brayden Schenn enjoyed the kind of Saturday that his fantasy owners hope would be typical for the still-quite-young forward.

Oct 1 - 11:57 PM

Brayden Schenn is happy coming into training camp this season.

And why not. Schenn started training camp last season on the fifth line and ended up as a top six forward with 26 goals and 59 points with the Flyers. He will start the season with a three game suspension due to a hit to the head on T.J. Oshie of the Capitals in the playoffs last season. Schenn could be on top line with Giroux when he returns or centering the second unit with Wayne Simmonds on his side. Look for a big year once again from Schenn who should get 60-65 points if he remains healthy.
Sep 25 - 9:56 AM

Brayden Schenn believes his 2015-16 numbers will be regular contributions for him moving forward.

"I feel like I'm getting better year by year and I expect nothing else next year," he said. "... I expect to come in and continue to prove my game in all areas of the ice. When you get the chance to play with good players they make you better as well. We got some good pieces that are part of the Flyers. We have a good team moving forward here. You want to get better individually, but I think the team as a whole will be better this year as well." He generated personal bests last season with 26 goals, 33 assists and 59 points in 80 games. Schenn received a four-year, $20.5 million contract on Monday from the Flyers, which ensures he'll be a key member of the team in the present as well as the future.
Jul 26 - 5:32 PM

Brayden Schenn has agreed to a four-year contract with Philadelphia.

Jul 25 - 10:25 AM

Brayden Schenn is requesting a one-year, $5.5 million contract.

The Philadelphia Flyers are countering with a two-year contract that would pay him $4.25 million in 2016-17 and $4,369,425 in 2017-18. This is all being presented ahead of his arbitration hearing scheduled for July 25. Obviously when players and teams make their pre-arbitration requests known there is going to be a salary gap and from a cap hit perspective, they're not terribly far off. What is somewhat unusual is that the Flyers have decided to ask for a two-year contract, so the difference between them could actually be larger because of it. If Schenn were to have presented what he wanted out of a two-year deal, he would have likely asked for an annual salary above his current request of $5.5 million.
Jul 23 - 12:08 PM
