That's Ekman-Larsson's eighth game-winning goal of the season, which is the most an NHL defenseman has ever gotten in a single campaign. "It was a great feeling for me, and it’s something I’m really proud of," Ekman-Larsson said. The goal had originally been credited to Martin Hanzal.

GM Don Maloney said that he would not trade Oliver Ekman-Larsson for the first overall pick in the 2016 Draft.

The first pick is a no-brainer and it's Scottsdale native Auston Matthews, the local kid who should be a star in the NHL as he likely would have been selected over Jack Eichel last season if he hadn't missed the NHL birth deadline by two days. That's how much the Coyotes think of Ekman-Larsson who is one of the top-five defensemen (if not better than that) in the NHL. He has 20 goals and 51 points with 90 penalty minutes and is having a boffo fantasy season.
