Oliver Ekman-Larsson found the back of the net in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Nashville Predators.

Ekman-Larsson's goal with 12 seconds remaining in the second frame tied the game at one. The 'Yotes then went up 2-1 when Brendan Perlini scored with less than seven minutes remaining in regulation, but the Preds eventually tied the game before winning it in a shootout. Ekman-Larsson finished the night with a plus-1 rating, one shot on goal and seven hits in 25:36 of ice time. The 26-year-old has eight goals, 22 points and a minus-38 rating in 47 games this season.

The Coyotes are reportedly listening to offers for Oliver Ekman-Larsson, but not actively trying to trade him.

While Arizona obviously won't make the playoffs this season, Ekman-Larsson is signed through 2018-19, so there's no urgency on the Coyotes side to do anything with him. Plus, Ekman-Larsson is still just 26-years-old so he could be part of the Coyotes' long-term solution if he's open to re-signing. With that in mind, we don't expect him to be dealt unless a team is willing to make the Coyotes a major offer they feel they can't refuse. Ekman-Larsson has 20 points in 45 games while averaging 24:33 minutes this season, but he also has an ugly minus-40 rating playing for the dreadful Coyotes.
Jan 17 - 6:00 AM

Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored his seventh of the season Saturday.

It was a bittersweet night for the blueliner who was also a minus-three on the evening, raising his plus/minus to an NHL worst minus-40. It's like some of the temperatures in the East this past month. It was his first point in nine games. Ekman-Larsson has 20 points in 45 games but if you play plus/minus, overall he is a minus to your squad.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson (illness) was able to play Tuesday night.

Ekman-Larsson missed Monday's practice due to the disease, but he was expected to be OK to play on Tuesday night. He registered an assist in 24:23 of ice time.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson didn't practice Monday because of an illness.

Coach Rick Tocchet called him "probable" to play Tuesday against the Florida Panthers. OEL has six goals and 18 points in 35 games this season, but he hasn't registered a point in his last eight outings.

Expect to see more points in the future from Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

Ekman-Larsson has been a slow starter during his NHL career and while he saw a three game points streak snap on Saturday, he still has two goals and 11 points in nine games. "I’m always a slow starter for a little bit," Ekman-Larsson said. "I’ve been like that for eight years now. I’m used to it, but at the same time it’s getting used to the system that’s new this year. I’m feeling pretty good, actually. But obviously I need to be better."

Oliver Ekman-Larsson registered an assist in a 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night.

There have been no trade discussions involving Oliver Ekman-Larsson, per Coyotes GM John Chayka.

Chayka was rejecting the trade rumors that have come up regarding Ekman-Larsson. Arizona is off to a terrible start, so trade rumors are a natural consequence of that, but it still doesn't mean that the star blueliner will be traded. He's got a season left on his contract after this one, so there is no urgency to move him even if Arizona doesn't end up competing for a playoff spot in 2017-18.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson left Saturday's game late in the third period after taking a hit from Blake Coleman.

Ekman-Larsson went through concussion protocol and although coach Rick Tocchet said after the game he thought OEL was fine, we will take a wait-and-see approach. Ekman-Larsson has a goal and six points in 11 games with a horrid minus-12 rating.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson potted his first goal of the season Saturday.

It came in a 6-2 loss to Boston as the Coyotes are winless in their first five games at 0-4-1. Ekman-Larsson had 12 goals last season after a couple of back-to-back 20 goal seasons but look for the Swede to return to near the top of defensemen goals as he played most of last season with a broken thumb. His goal was on the power play.
