Defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson assisted on both of Arizona's regulation goals Monday night before the Coyotes recorded a stunning 3-2 upset win over the Blackhawks in a shootout in Chicago.

Ekman-Larsson is one of the premier two-way defensemen in the NHL. He now has 12 assists with a usually inferior team. The Coyotes were surprisingly good on this night, against the mighty Blackhawks. Arizona captain Shane Doan and Antoine Vermette both notched their 12th goals of the season. Vermette also scored the shootout winner.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson's 13th goal of the season was unlike any he's scored in his career, a 150-foot shoot-in from center ice that found its way past Jonathan Bernier and sparked a Coyotes comeback.

The puck came to Ekman-Larsson off the third period faceoff with his team trailing 1-0. "I saw we had about 23 seconds left on the penalty kill, and when I got the puck, I just shot it down the ice," Ekman-Larsson said. "It's hard for the goalie to save it." The puck bounced in on Bernier and Arizona came all the way back to beat the reeling Leafs 3-1.
