Nazem Kadri was back between Mitch Marner and Patrick Marleau at Monday's morning skate

Kadri played alongside Andreas Johnsson and William Nylander in Saturday's Game 5 win over Boston. Toronto did not show that combination before it was formed in the contest, but right now it seems like Tomas Plekanec will play with Johnsson and Nylander in Game 6.

Nazem Kadri chipped in an assist in the Maple Leafs' 4-3 win over Boston in Game 5.

Kadri was making his return after serving a three-game suspension for boarding Boston's Tommy Wingels. The Leafs missed Kadri during his absence and they need more out of him now that he's back. While Toronto did win on Saturday, the Leafs are still down in their first round series 3-2.

Nazem Kadri spoke to the media for the first time since being suspended by the NHL's Department of Player Safety last week.

Even though he's finished serving his three-game suspension, Kadri admitted that he though the suspension was harsh. "I was not expecting that," Kadri said. "That particular play, I just felt like a liberty had been taken on Mitch (Marner) and I’m always going to stand up for my teammates and stand up for myself. That part is not going to change about me. Was it worthy of a suspension? I definitely think so. But I think the three games is definitely a little harsh." The Leafs find themselves down 3-1 in this best-of-seven series, so they'll have to dig deep in Boston on Saturday night to extend this to Game 6.

Apr 21 - 10:24 AM

Nazem Kadri has finished serving his three-game suspension for boarding Boston's Tommy Wingels.

Kadri will be available to return to the lineup in Game 5 on Saturday night at Boston. Tomas Plekanec has played well on Toronto's second line for the last two games, but Kadri will probably reclaim his spot in the lineup.
Apr 20 - 9:59 AM

Nazem Kadri has been suspended three games for boarding Tommy Wingels on Thursday night.

Kadri was also tossed from Game 1 of Toronto's first-round series against Boston. That's a big suspension, but one that's definitely deserved. The Maple Leafs use Kadri as their primary shutdown center, so not having in the lineup for the next three games is going to be a big loss. He'll be eligible to return in Game 5, assuming the series goes that long.
Apr 13 - 7:56 PM

Nazem Kadri will have a disciplinary hearing on Friday for boarding Boston's Tommy Wingels.

Kadri was ejected from Game 1 on Thursday night after he hit a vulnerable Wingels from behind. The fact that he was actually tossed from the game might lighten a potential suspension. Don't be surprised if he still gets a game for dishing out that hit. After dropping the first game of the series, this is the last thing Toronto needed.
Apr 13 - 12:09 AM

Nazem Kadri was ejected from Game 1 against the Boston Bruins for hitting Tommy Wingels into the boards from behind.

Kadri walks a fine line often times, but he went over it here and could be facing a potential suspension as a result. It would be a tough loss for the Leafs, who will be looking for some goals after getting completely neutralized by the Bruins in Game 1. Kadri finished the game with 14:08 of ice-time and a game-high 17 penalty minutes.
Apr 12 - 10:12 PM
