Nazem Kadri was named to Team Canada for the upcoming IIHF Championships scheduled to begin on May 9th in Belarus.
He will be joined on the squad by teammates Morgan Rielly and James Reimer. Kadri had an inconsistent season but still set career highs in goals and points with 20 and 50 respectively. Reilly is a promising defenseman who just scratched the surface of his vast talent this season. We all know about the trials Reimer had in 2013-14. Apr 18 - 11:52 AM

Nazem Kadri understands that trade rumors could heat up again for his services, but he'd like to stay in Toronto.

"I've cherished my time (as a Leaf) and hopefully it continues," Kadri said on Wednesday. "I love Toronto. I love our fans and how passionate they are." He has averaged 17:25 of ice time per contest in 2013-14 and he's recorded 50 points (20 goals, 30 assists) in 76 games.

Nazem Kadri scored the winner for the Maple Leafs in their 4-3 overtime trimph over the Bruins on Thursday night.

Kadri had a ton of expectations heaped on him this season, his second full campaign in the NHL, after tallying 44 points last year. While he didn't take the leap many hoped for, he has been plenty productive for a young player, with 19 goals and 49 points. James van Riemsdyk, Tyler Bozak and Paul Ranger netted the other goals, while Phil Kessel and Cody Franson picked up two helpers apiece.

Nazem Kadri contributed two assists in Toronto's 3-2 win over Los Angeles on Thursday night.

He had a hand in setting up goals by defensemen Dion Phaneuf and Carl Gunnarsson. Kadri has two goals and four points in his past five matches. He also established a new career high for points in a season with 46 in 64 contests.

Mar 9 - 11:38 AM

Nazem Kadri ended a six-game goalless skid in Wednesday's overtime win over the New York Rangers.

Kadri was red hot prior to the Olympic break, but he's looked sluggish since the NHL resumed play. Getting back on the scoresheet could be just what he needs to get going again. He has produced 16 goals and 43 points in 60 games this season.
Mar 6 - 11:24 AM

Nazem Kadri likes to play physical and that edge he plays with is a big part of his game.

"Sometimes that's how I get myself in the game, emotionally and physically," Kadri said. "It's working for me, though I understand I have to take the side of caution. But at the same time, I have to finish my hits. At home, to get the crowd and the energy going, it's always important to get involved." He has a great deal of skill to go with his penchant for hard hits. Kadri's ability to get under the skin of the opposition has also led to many power plays for the Leafs. His offense has picked up as well of late, as he will take a five-game point streak into Tuesday's contest.

Nazem Kadri collected three assists in Thursday's 6-3 win over Florida.

"It's probably the best game he has played in a long time," coach Randy Carlyle said. "And it was at both ends of the rink ... He was distributing the puck, he was making some big-league plays." He also went 14-9 in the faceoff circle. Kadri has been hot of late with three goals and nine assists in his last eight matches. He surpassed 100 career points Thursday night and currently has 101 in 151 contests.

Nazem Kadri scored two pretty goals in Toronto's 3-2 win over Tampa Bay Tuesday night.

The former first round pick managed just one goal in his previous 15 contests. The 23 year-old still has ways to go to beat his breakout season last year. So far, he's got 14 goals and 35 points in 51 games.
Jan 28 - 10:21 PM

Nazem Kadri earned an assist and 12 penalty minutes in Toronto's blowout loss to Dallas on Thursday night.

Kadri and Stars agitator Antoine Roussel got involved in some stick-work during the third period. He made some poor decisions with the puck in the contest as well, but was credited with just one giveaway. Kadri has improved offensively of late with a goal and five assists in his past five outings, but his defensive work will have to improve or else he could end up back in Randy Carlyle's doghouse.
Jan 24 - 7:54 AM

Nazem Kadri picked up a goal and added an assist for the Maple Leafs in a 4-2 win over Phoenix Monday.

Jan 20 - 11:13 PM

Nazem Kadri responded to trade rumors with a big game Saturday against Montreal.

He was physical, set up two goals and was the game's second star in a 5-3 win. Kadri's teammates were certainly impressed by how he played. "Everyone expects him to get three points every night," Tyler Bozak said. "He’s still a young kid. I don't think he's going to get 150 points every year. You can see the amount of skill he has and what he showed tonight. He had two huge setups for us." Maybe this will be the start of one of Kadri's hot streaks. If so, ride him until he cools.

Maple Leafs general manager Dave Nonis told TSN Radio this week that there has been "a lot of interest" in center Nazem Kadri, sparking reports that the 23-year-old is being shopped around.
