Nazem Kadri didn't practice Tuesday because he was feeling under the weather.

The Leafs host Minnesota on Wednesday, so he could play if this is just a 24 hour illness. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Dec 6 - 12:04 PM

Nazem Kadri isn't worried about the hostile environment that awaits him in Saturday's game against Vancouver.

"There is definitely going to be some hostility, but we definitely play better under that kind of pressure," Kadri said. "Especially myself. I don't mind it at all. You have to be hard on good players." The Leafs center incited plenty of shenanigans on Nov. 5 when Toronto last played the Canucks following his blindside hit on Daniel Sedin. Kadri does step over the line at times, but he has enjoyed a strong start to the year with 10 goals and 17 points in 23 games. He also has 53 penalty minutes.

Dec 2 - 9:19 AM

Nazem Kadri scored the game winning goal at the 6:00 mark of the second period as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 Tuesday night.

Kadri was not the only shooter to score his 10th goal of the season in this high-scoring affair. Auston Matthews also got his 10th of the year at the 5:45 mark of the first, while James van Riemsdyk earned his 10th at 2:49 in the second.

Nov 24 - 8:48 AM

Nazem Kadri accounted for two assists Thursday in a 6-1 victory versus Florida.

He has enjoyed a great start to the 2016-17 campaign with seven goals and 13 points in 17 contests. Kadri has generated four multi-point games now.
Nov 18 - 8:52 AM

It does not appear that Nazem Kadri will face any league discipline for his hit on Daniel Sedin Saturday night.

Kadri clocked Sedin just as he had released on Vancouver's third goal. To some, it looked to be a cheap hit as Sedin was vulnerable and Kadri came barreling in at top speed. But the NHL seems to think that the hit didn't cross the line. Kadri has been a hot player as of late so it is a good thing for those who own him that he will be available for next week's games.
Nov 6 - 11:51 AM

Nazem Kadri scored a pair of goals in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Kadri got the party started with his goal at the 1:29 mark of the first period. More importantly, he also added the game-winning goal just 12 seconds into overtime. Kadri has three goals and five points in his last six contests. He has eight points in 10 games this season. He finished the game with a plus-2 rating, two penalty minutes, six shots on goal and two hits in 14:05 of ice time.
Nov 1 - 10:36 PM

Nazeem Kadri scored at the 4:18 minute mark of the third period to log the only goal of the night in for the Leafs in a 2-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens Saturday.

Kadri has made the most of his opportunities. In seven games entering this contest he scored two goals and three assists on only nine shots. Saturday night, his goal came on only four shots.
Oct 30 - 12:13 AM

Despite being the fifth best ranked possession team in the NHL so far this season, the Maple Leafs are sporting one of the poorer possession lines.

The trio of Nazem Kadri, Milan Michalek and Leo Komorov were terrible Saturday night against Chicago with a 20% possession rating. Compare that to the Leafs as a whole with a 54.5% possession rating and you can see how poorly the Kadri unit is doing. Mike Babcock is certainly watching these numbers and will make a change if they continue.
Oct 23 - 11:27 AM

Nazem Kadri earned his 200th NHL assist on Thursday.

He had a power-play helper on a goal by Auston Matthews in a 3-2 loss to Minnesota. Kadri has three points in four games this season and all of his scoring has come in his last two appearances.

Oct 21 - 8:57 AM

Nazem Kadri scored a pair of goals in Wednesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

Kadri's first period goal gave the Maple Leafs a 2-0 lead, while his tally in the second period extended the advantage to 4-0. That's when the Leafs fell apart, as they allowed the Jets to tie the game in the third period. Toronto eventually dropped the game in OT when rookie Patrik Laine completed his hat trick. The goals were Kadri's first two of the season.
Oct 19 - 11:29 PM

Nazem Kadri has won 69 percent of his 29 faceoffs after the first two games of the season.

He won just 49.2 percent of his draws last season, which set a new personal best for the 26-year-old center. "You're going to have off-nights, but you have to be consistent strategically," Kadri said. "I'm hoping to be one of those guys to be looked upon for an important faceoff." He appears to be making great progress in that area if his first two games are any indication.

Oct 17 - 11:04 AM

Nazem Kadri doesn't mind that the spotlight in Toronto will be focused on the team's top prospects.

"I don't mind flying under the radar sometimes," Kadri said. "But at the same time, guys are expected to do a lot — maybe a little more this year than last year. But I think those guys know who they are and they're ready to take responsibility and take action." He wants to play a leadership role on the team this year and has worked hard during the off-season to prepare for the upcoming campaign.
Sep 6 - 4:45 PM

Nazem Kadri has agreed to a six-year contract with the Maple Leafs.

The average annual value of his new deal is $4.5 million. Kadri finished as Toronto's leading scorer in 2015-16 with 45 points in 76 games. Coach Mike Babcock displayed plenty of faith in him during the regular season, while placing him against the top lines of the opposition.
