Dmitry Kulikov has been playing well this season alongside Willie Mitchell.

"I look up to Willie," Kulikov said. "He's been playing in the league for a long time and knows how to play defensively. I look at how he does things that I like and just try to copy him and do the same things. He knows where I am and I know where he is, so I can expect him to be there which makes it easier for me to play." The duo has formed the Panhers' shutdown tandem and they have done a good job. The top pair has been on the ice for just one even-strength goal against in the first six games of the season. Kulikov is earning the trust of his new coaches and he's averaging 24 minutes of ice time per game. Now, he just needs to get his offensive game sorted, which should come if his defensive efforts remain strong.
