Jacob Josefson (illness) has been taken off the injured reserve list.

Josefson last played on Dec. 31. It's possible that his illness was concussion symptoms, given that he was out with a concussion for five games earlier in December. The Devils sent Nick Lappin to the minors to clear a spot for Josefson.

He sat out five games with a concussion from Dec. 18-Dec. 27 before playing two and then ending up on injured reserve. Monday's match against Florida will be the fifth game in a row he has missed.

The Devils placed Jacob Josefson on I/R with an illness retroactive to Dec. 31st, 2016.

The 25-year-old has posted just two points along with six PIMs, six blocks and 13 hits while averaging just 11:50 of ice time per game. Hopefully he feels better soon.

The timing is particularly unfortunate because Josefson has only gotten in two games since returning from a concussion. He has two assists in 16 games this season.

Josefson missed five straight games due to a concussion. He had a hit and two blocked shots in 14:36 minutes in his return. He made a difference in the shootout too, scoring the goal that sealed the game for New Jersey.

Josefson was already regarded as probable for Thursday's contest and this move confirms his availability. He was sidelined for five consecutive games.
