Oct 2 - 5:55 PM

Zack Kassian has been on the second line in training camp thus far.

Kassian has been playing with Nick Bonino and Alex Burrows and if he sticks there, his fantasy value will go up big time. Kassian had 29 points and 124 penalty minutes last season and could be in line for 35-40 points and 150-plus penalty minutes if he can stay as a second liner.

Zack Kassian thinks he received a "fair contract" from Vancouver based on where he's at in his career.

He will earn $1.5 million next year and $2 million the season after that. "I feel I can do more but you have to show that on the ice and that's coming in the next couple of years, and so on and so forth," he added. Kassian had 29 points and 124 penalty minutes in 73 games last year.
Jul 5 - 4:00 PM

Zack Kassian's agent, Paul Krepelka, confirmed that a two-year deal worth $3.5 million was signed with the Canucks on Thursday.

Reports out of Vancouver suggest the Canucks are close to inking Zack Kassian to a two-year contract extension.

The well-known agitator registered 29 points in 73 games last season and though more offense was expected when he was acquired by Vancouver, he offers decent production for a third or fourth liner. We'll pass along the specifics of the deal if/when it comes to fruition.
Jul 3 - 9:11 PM

Zack Kassian presents an interesting problem for the Vancouver Canucks.

The right winger is about to be a restricted free agent. He has played 156 games with the Sabres and Canucks, compiling 25 goals and 25 assists. He scored 14 goals and added 15 assists in 73 games with Vancouver this season and ended stronger than he started it, with three goals and 10 points in his final 10 games, including a four-assist game against Edmonton March 23. Kassian’s entry-level contract, which ended, had him making an average of $870,000 a season. His qualifying offer, according to CapGeek, would actually be lower than that. While a qualifying offer generally has to be an increase on a previous contract, part of Kassian’s entry-level deal included a signing bonus and his base salary this past year was $810,000, meaning his qualifying offer would need to be, at minimum, $850,500. May 10 - 11:09 AM

Zack Kassian continued his hot pace for the Vancouver Canucks Saturday night, scoring a goal and adding an assist in his team's 5-2 loss in Edmonton.

With one game left in the Canucks' regular season, Sunday against Calgary in Vancouver, Kassian has 14 goals and 15 assists. He's been the Canucks' leading scorer in 16 games since the Olympic break with 12 points. The Canucks have not had a good season and won't be in the playoffs, but Kassian gives them some optimism for the future. The same is true for Shawn Matthias, who also had a goal (his 12th) and an assist (11th) for the Canucks in Edmonton.
Apr 13 - 1:29 AM

Zack Kassian has three goals and a team-leading 10 points in 15 games since the Olympic break.

Kassian isn't known for his offensive abilities, but he's giving the Canucks a glimmer of hope that he might develop into a more well-rounded forward. "His whole game, with and without the puck, has been more consistent," Tortorella said. "And I think he has the puck more because he's been more consistent away from the puck." He has 13 goals and 27 points in 69 games this season.
Apr 7 - 11:05 AM

Zack Kassian had an assist on Saturday to boost his scoring streak to four games.

Kassian has two goals and seven points in the four game streak to give him 13 goals and 26 points this season with 124 penalty minutes which is ninth best in the NHL.
