John Moore fought for the second time this season when he dropped the mitts with Barclay Goodrow during Friday's 3-1 loss to the Sharks.

Ironically, Moore's first fight of the season came against now-teammate Kyle Chipchura while Moore was still with the Rangers. Since joining the Coyotes at the trade deadline, Moore has picked up a goal and four points with 11 PIMs over 18 games. Which is nearly identical to his goal and five points with 19 PIMs while with the Rangers for 38 games. Clearly the change of scenery has done him some good.

The Arizona Coyotes are giving John Moore the opportunity to play on the power play.

The Coyotes are looking for a replacement for the now-traded Keith Yandle and Moore has always had the reputation as being a good offensive defenseman. Moore saw second unit time with the squad as the Coyotes have given Michael Stone the first chance to play on the point alongside the great Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

John Moore will pair with Connor Murphy in his Coyotes debut on Tuesday night against the Ducks.

John Moore spent the season alternating with Matt Hunwick for third pair minutes for the Rangers, tonight he'll line up in the second defensive unit. He has a goal, six points, 19 PIMs, 34 blocks, and 51 hits through 38 games this season.
Mar 3 - 8:44 PM

John Moore is heading to the Arizona Coyotes after being acquired in a package deal for Keith Yandle.

The full details of the trade are: Moore, prospect Anthony Duclair, a first round pick in 2016 and a 2nd round pick in 2015 are going to Arizona, while the Rangers get Yandle, Chris Summers and a 4th round pick. Moore is a former first round pick who has had some trouble finding his place in the NHL. The 24-year-old has been a healthy scratch several times this season and a fresh start with the Coyotes may do his career some good.

For the first time in three weeks, John Moore will play consecutive games after Coach Vigneault commended him for his quality effort on Thursday night.

Moore collected his first point in 12 games on Thursday against Arizona when he assisted on Lee Stempniak's goal, cutting Arizona's lead to 3-2 lead in the second period. Moore also collected a fighting major in the first, skating a total 14:48. "More than anything the most important thing is that I get out of my own head and just play, use my skills like my skating, and control what I can control, which is effort and compete level."

John Moore's name is being bandied about in trade rumors.

The trade deadline is Monday at 3 PM ET and Moore could be headed elsewhere as the Rangers are looking for help with their third defense pairing and also need some depth up front. Moore is a talented player who has struggled this season and his small salary hit ($850,000) could attract many suitors. "I’m just controlling what I can control, and that’s whether I’m in or I’m out, just working hard," Moore said after playing an assertive game Thursday, including getting into a fight. "If that’s getting bag skated after the morning skate, that’s being the best bag skater I can be. If I’m in, it’s giving them a reason to keep me in." He has only five assists in 37 games but is capable of so much more.

John Moore will be scratched as Matt Hunwick takes his place next to Dan Boyle to create New York's third defensive unit on Tuesday versus Calgary.

Even if you had both players, neither would amount to much fantasy value with no goals and merely a dozen points between them in 75 combined games.
Feb 24 - 6:39 PM

John Moore will take a seat as Matt Hunwick tags in against the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night.

The carousel continues, but neither have much fantasy value with no goals and an insignificant amount of penalty minutes, hits, and other countables between them. Though perhaps that's exactly the way Coach Vigneault likes it.
Feb 20 - 6:05 PM

John Moore will be a healthy scratch in Monday's game against the New York Islanders.

There was an outside chance that Moore would play tonight, but Dan Boyle (illness) feels good enough to get into the lineup. Forward Jesper Fast is also scratched because he is dealing with a knee injury.
Feb 16 - 7:10 PM

John Moore will be a healthy scratch Thursday night in Denver.

As Moore and Matt Hunwick continue to trade shifts, their fantasy owner's can rest easy as neither have much value. Through 33 games Moore has four points, 12 PIMs, 29 blocks, and 43 hits.
Feb 12 - 8:44 PM

John Moore will step in as Matt Hunwick takes a seat on Tuesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With just a dozen points in 67 combined games between the two defenders, there isn't much fantasy value to speak of.
Feb 10 - 7:03 PM

John Moore will be a healthy scratch in Sunday's game against Dallas.

Henrik Lundqvist and Jesper Fast are both dealing with injuries and they will also be scratched for the Rangers.
Feb 8 - 5:14 PM

John Moore is expected to sit once again Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators.

Play a few games. Sit a few games. That's the yo-yo Coach Vigneault has been playing with Moore and Matt Hunwick and it continues tonight as Moore sits for the fourth straight game. Either way, Moore is lacking in fantasy value.
Jan 20 - 6:11 PM

John Moore was scratched again in Columbus on Friday night.

And so goes Coach Vigneault's sixth defenseman carrousel. It's now Matt Hunwick's turn to skate with Kevin Klein as the Rangers' third defensive pairing. Moore has just four assists in 27 games, thus little fantasy value.
