Peter Holland earned his third assist in six games with Arizona Friday night.
He helped set up Shane Doan's 400th career goal late in the second period in a 4-1 loss to Toronto. Holland made an impact against the Leafs last week too when he scored the shootout winner for the Coyotes. Sat, Dec 24, 2016 11:13:00 AM

Peter Holland scored the shootout-winning goal in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

As you may remember, the Maple Leafs traded Holland to Arizona just six days ago, and he came back to haunt his former team. Holland had a hard time getting into the lineup when he was with the Leafs, but his tenure with the Coyotes is off to a good start, as he picked up two assists in win over Detroit earlier this week. His name may be all over the boxscore right now, but he isn't worth owning in season-long fantasy leagues.

Peter Holland registered two assists in his first game with Arizona.

Holland began the campaign with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he didn't fit into their plans so they traded him for a conditional draft pick. "He’s just a solid NHL guy," Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said after Holland's debut. "Controls the middle. Pretty good on faceoffs. ... He's an experienced guy that even though he hasn't played in a couple weeks, (he) came in and played a solid game for us." Holland isn't likely to have many more nights like that this season, but he should have some offensive production if he continues to log a decent amount of ice time as he did on Tuesday with his 14:18 minutes.

Peter Holland will make his Arizona debut Tuesday night.

"A little nervous," said Holland, who has settled his work visa issue. "A little excited, but looking forward to getting gong. Not playing in Toronto was a little frustrating, so I'm happy to get the trade done and be here now." He is slated to play between Jordan Martinook and Jamie McGinn. Holland hasn't seen game action since Nov. 26.

Peter Holland is expected to get his work visa soon.

"I think he'll get a visa today it sounds like," coach Dave Tippett said Monday. "Whether he meets us here or meets us in Detroit tomorrow, one or the other." He still hasn't joined the team yet since he was obtained from Toronto this past Friday.

Though he's been given a fresh start with the Arizona Coyotes, Peter Holland cannot yet take advantage of it due to his visa issues.

Visa issues normally take a couple of weeks to work themselves out, so it may not be a for another week before Holland can hit the ice.

The condition on the Peter Holland trade is related to if he re-signs or is dealt again.

If Arizona decides to ink Holland or trade him then the Coyotes will have to send the Toronto Maple Leafs their 2018 sixth-round pick. If Arizona doesn't re-sign Holland though, then the Leafs will receive no compensation for this trade. Holland no longer factored into Toronto's plans, so this was about freeing a roster spot and giving him an opportunity elsewhere.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have dealt Peter Holland to the Arizona Coyotes for a conditional draft pick.

The trade was reported on by Elliotte Friedman and then Craig Morgan got confirmation from Coyotes GM John Chayka. Holland has an assist in eight games this season. The fact that Holland was traded was anticipated. He recently met with Leafs GM Lou Lamoriello and it was decided that he wouldn't continue to travel with the team while the team worked to move him. This will provide the 25-year-old with a fresh start.

Peter Holland is still in limbo, while awaiting a trade.

He has been at home since last week. "Collectively the best decision was to move Peter along, and we're going to do everything we can to do that," GM Lou Lamoriello said. "I hope it's not too far off from being done and that it will happen in the very near future." According to a report, Toronto is looking for a draft pick for Holland.

Peter Holland will not travel with the Maple Leafs and his time with the team appears to be coming to an end.

Holland and his agent met with Leafs GM Lou Lamoriello over the weekend and then a decision was made for him to stay behind. "At this time, it appears that Peter's future with the club is limited," said agent Joe Resnick, "and, Lou will do his best to trade him. Lou also stated that Peter not go on the road trip during this time frame." Holland has played in just eight games with Toronto this season and he has one assist.

The Toronto Maples have scratched Peter Holland, Martin Marincin, and Frank Corrado for their game on Tuesday against the Hurricanes.

A former first round pick, Holland will sit for the fourth consecutive game for the Maple Leafs. He has one point in seven games and has no fantasy upside whatsoever.

Peter Holland will be a healthy scratch in Tuesday's game against the Predators.

Holland played in Toronto's last game, but he was previously scratched in eight consecutive games. He has one assist in seven games this season. Connor Carrick and Frank Corrado will also watch from the press box.

Peter Holland and Frank Corrado will be scratched against the Canadiens on Saturday.

Holland has just one point in six games thus far, and none in two weeks. Unfortunately he's just not producing enough to warrant much attention.
