Peter Holland has been sent down to the AHL.

Holland has excelled at the AHL level, but he hasn't been able to maintain a top-six spot in the NHL. He has three goals and five points in 21 games with the Ducks this season.
Apr 15 - 6:17 PM

Peter Holland was a healthy scratch on Sunday.

The Ducks have been struggling of late as they are 1-4-1 in their last six and could be looking for a second line center as the trade deadline approaches on Wednesday with Nick Bonino injured and Holland and Bobby Ryan struggling to fill the role. Holland has three goals and four points in 18 games this season and at age 22, may only be a fringe player in the NHL despite being drafted 15th overall in the 2009 Draft.
Apr 1 - 5:03 AM

The Anaheim Ducks are experimenting with using Peter Holland as their second-line center.

Holland logged 14:33 minutes and recorded a shot on goal in Wednesday's 4-0 loss to the San Jose Sharks. Given that the Ducks have been struggling lately, it wouldn't be surprised to see the Ducks alter their lines and Holland lose his spot. He has three goals and four points in 17 games this season.

Anaheim Ducks recall Peter Holland from AHL Hartford.

Holland has been back and forth between the NHL and AHL levels a few times this season. He's a former first-round pick with good potential, but he is unlikely to make a significant contribution to fantasy rosters this season.
Mar 6 - 9:57 AM

Peter Holland has been sent to the minors.

Holland was a healthy scratch on Monday. He'll return to the AHL Norfolk Admirals where he has 16 goals and 35 points in 39 games this season.
Feb 27 - 8:09 AM

Peter Holland is on his way to the NHL.

The Ducks recalled the 22-year-old Wednesday night. He had 16 goals, 35 points and 58 penalty minutes in the AHL. Anaheim's 2009 first-rounder is worth a grab for those in need of a center. He's got the upside to be a very good player, though it's unlikely to occur immediately.
Feb 13 - 9:35 PM

Anaheim has decided to send center Peter Holland to Norfolk of the AHL.

Although he enjoyed a productive stint in the minors earlier in the season, amassing 31 points in 34 games, Holland didn't do enough to impress Ducks brass with the big club and finds himself sent for seasoning. Holland should find himself back with Anaheim before long.
Jan 27 - 6:53 PM

Peter Holland is patiently waiting for his turn in the Anaheim lineup.

Holland has now been a healthy scratch for both games after leading his AHL Norfolk team in scoring during the lockout with 31 points in 33 games. The original plan was to play Rickard Rakell on Saturday and come back with Holland Monday but with the Ducks winning so easily against the Canucks, coach Bruce Boudreau decided to keep the same lineup. Brad Staubitz was also a healthy scratch.
Jan 22 - 5:35 AM

Anaheim top prospect Peter Holland has impressed the Ducks brass with his play in the AHL this year.

Holland leads the Norfolk Admirals in scoring with 31 points in 33 games this year and his offensive game has certainly impressed coach Bruce Boudreau. "When he's got the puck, he's in control," said Boudreau. "He knows very well what he's doing." Because of the logjam at forward with the Ducks, it seems unlikely that Holland will start the year in the NHL, but he's certainly on the cusp of being called up.
Jan 13 - 8:09 AM

With the team of teammate Rod Pelley, Peter Holland has been improving his faceoff skills.

Pelley is a veteran of 256 NHL games, including a combined 52 with the New Jersey Devils and Anaheim Ducks last season. "We work together a lot in practice on faceoffs," Holland said. "It was something I tried to improve this summer and I think I’ve gotten a lot better this year. Any time you can start with the puck, it’s a lot more fun playing with the puck on the offensive side than it is when the other team has it in your end. Definitely faceoffs are a big part of the game." Holland is trying to improve his chances of cracking the Anaheim Ducks roster when this lockout ends.

Peter Holland thinks he's come a long way since he last played in the NHL over a year ago.

"I’m maturing in my game," Holland said. "The points aren’t always going to come. We play too good of hockey in the AHL or the NHL or just any pro league. The points are nice to get and you work hard to get them but they’re not always going not be there. So it’s important for guys like me to work on other aspects of the game. Playing strong in the defensive zone, pressuring the puck. Doing the all-encompassing things that will lead to you getting the opportunities to in fact get points." Holland has 11 goals and 27 points in 27 AHL games this season. He obviously needs to wait until the lockout ends before he'll get another shot with the Anaheim Ducks, but he might not have to wait too long after the work stoppage to get back into the NHL.

Peter Holland had a goal and an assist in the Norfolk Admirals' 4-3 overtime loss to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Peter Holland has been thriving with the AHL Norfolk Admirals.

Holland has 10 goals and 23 points in 22 AHL games this season. He might get a shot with the Anaheim Ducks this season if the lockout ends.
Thu, Dec 13, 2012 08:47:00 AM

Peter Holland had a goal and an assist in Norfolk's 5-1 triumph over Hershey on Saturday night.

Holland is continuing where he left off last season when he registered 60 points in 71 games of his first pro season. Thus far, he has 19 points in 19 games. He could eventually work his way to being a very solid second-line center.
