Peter Holland will not travel with the Maple Leafs and his time with the team appears to be coming to an end.
Holland and his agent met with Leafs GM Lou Lamoriello over the weekend and then a decision was made for him to stay behind. "At this time, it appears that Peter's future with the club is limited," said agent Joe Resnick, "and, Lou will do his best to trade him. Lou also stated that Peter not go on the road trip during this time frame." Holland has played in just eight games with Toronto this season and he has one assist. Nov 29 - 3:16 PM

Peter Holland has requested a salary of $2.1 million.

Toronto has countered at $900,000. Holland had nine goals and 27 points in 65 contests last season while averaging 14:40 minutes per game. Keep in mind that while $2.1 million seems high for Holland, it's a negotiating point rather than what he likely expects to get. That said, Toronto strengthened its negotiating position by putting him on waivers. Every other team passed on the opportunity to claim him. His arbitration hearing is scheduled for July 25.

Peter Holland went unclaimed on waivers.

That should help the Maple Leafs build their case for a reduced salary for Holland. After all, every other team in the league just had the opportunity to take him and no one stepped up to do so.

Peter Holland has been placed on waivers.

Peter Holland (concussion) won't play Wednesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Leafs won't get Leo Komarov back from injury either for that contest either. Toronto will have two games left on the 2015-16 schedule after that, so time is running out for them to return before the end of the season.
