Jeremy Morin will play against his former teammates from Chicago on Saturday.
Morin was dealt six days ago for Tim Erixon so he will really want to make a good impression on Saturday. Morin has an assist in two games with the Blue Jackets after going 15 without one for the Blackhawks. If you play in daily pools, Morin could be worth a shot. Dec 20 - 7:33 AM

Jeremy Morin will make his Columbus Blue Jackets debut Tuesday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

In 54 career NHL games, previously all with Chicago, Morin has accrued eight goals and 16 points and none this season. However one of those eight goals has come against Detroit. Look for him to skate on CBJ's third line to the left of Nick Foligno and Brian Gibbons.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired Jeremy Morin from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Tim Erixon.

Last week, Morin informed the Chicago Blackhawks that he wanted to play or be traded, and it appears that he got his wish. "Jeremy is a young, strong forward with a very good shot, who has been a productive offensive player throughout his career," said Blue Jackets' GM Jarmo Kekalainen. "Given our depth at defense, this was an opportunity for us to add a very good player with a lot of potential on the other end." The 23-year-old hasn't registered a point in 15 games this season.

There are reportedly four or five teams interested in acquiring Jeremy Morin.

Morin asked to either be traded or play after spending eight straight games in the press box. Instead he'll report to the AHL on a conditioning assignment. A change of scenery might be good for him as another team might give him a chance to serve as a top-six forward.
Dec 9 - 1:10 PM

Jeremy Morin has been sent to the minors on a conditioning assignment.

Morin has spent the Blackhawks' last eight games in the press box. He's reportedly asked Chicago to either trade him or put him back into the lineup. This will give him an opportunity to shake off the rust, but Chicago can only keep him in the minors for two weeks for conditioning. If they want him to stay in the AHL for longer than that then the Blackhawks will need to put him on waivers.
Dec 9 - 12:09 PM

According to sources, Jeremy Morin has informed the Chicago Blackhawks that he wants to play or be traded.

Morin has been a healthy scratch on several occasions this season and the 23-year-old is understandably frustrated. Morin has no points in 15 games this season but has been a health scratch in nine of Chicago's last 10 games. He has some upside, but will need to get a fair shot if he's going to live up to his potential. His days in Chicago could be numbered.

Nov 26 - 8:24 PM

The Chicago Blackhawks are sitting forward Jeremy Morin on Sunday.

Considering his zero points in 14 games and averaging less than eight minutes per game, so he probably won't be missed by many.
Nov 16 - 5:40 PM

Jeremy Morin will be looking to cement his spot in the lineup now that Daniel Carcillo is projected to miss the next four weeks with a knee injury.

He played well on Chicago's fourth line, with Marcus Kruger and Ben Smith, during Sunday's win over Ottawa. "He keeps working hard," coach Joel Quenneville said. "I think that even when he does play those minutes, he still does some things that you like. He just keeps waiting for the opportunity, and it's going to be here now and I look forward to him taking advantage of it." He has no points and 11 shots in five appearances this season.
Oct 28 - 8:03 AM

Jeremy Morin appears as though he'll be a healthy scratch Tuesday night.

Kris Versteeg is slated to return, so Morin was the odd man out. Ben Smith, Marcus Kruger and Daniel Carcillo made up the Blackhawks' fourth line. Morin has played in Chicago's first four games this year, but the highest amount of ice time he's seen is the 8:57 he played against Buffalo on Oct. 11.

Oct 20 - 5:58 PM

Jeremy Morin could be in line to share Chicago's fourth-line winger spot with Daniel Carcillo.

It's probable that Morin will get the chance to play first and Carcillo will rotate in when the Blackhawks play against teams with a more physical style.
Oct 7 - 9:44 AM

Athough it is likely that Jeremy Morin will earn a roster spot with the Blackhawks to start the season, he is still in a battle.

There is one or possibly two forward spots up for grabs in Chicago and Morin along with Peter Regin, Joakim Nordstrom and Teuvo Teravainen are the prime candidates to fill them. Morin is the best bet as he signed a one-way contract and had played very well in April and seems ready to make the jump from the AHL. No matter who is left standing they will have little fantasy impact in a bottom six role.
Sep 27 - 12:08 PM

Jeremy Morin is expected to stay on Chicago's roster next season.

"Jeremy has been patient with us," GM Stan Bowman said. "I know sometimes it's tough to spend a couple of years in the minors when you're an NHL-ready player. Give him credit, he really has done everything we've asked him to. The only thing that missing was an opportunity. Now, we're giving him that opportunity. He's going to be on the team." He skated in 24 games with the Blackhawks last season. Chicago won't be bringing back Michal Handzus and Brandon Bollig was traded, so there are openings for Morin.
