Calvin De Haan revealed that his shoulder injury was a sprained AC joint.
De Haan missed the final two games of the Islanders' first round series against the Washington Capitals as a result. He was hoping to participate in the second round of the players, but the Islanders were eliminated. That means he should be fine for the start of the 2015-16 campaign though. Apr 28 - 5:18 PM

De Haan suffered the injury in Game 5 when he banged shoulders with Troy Brouwer. De Haan had a couple of shoulder surgeries in the past few years and was unable to practice on Friday. Stay tuned.

Calvin De Haan suffered an undisclosed injury during Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.

De Haan sustained the ailment on a shoulder-to-shoulder hit, which is troubling given his history of shoulder problems. We don't know how serious the injury is, but it would be a blow to the Islanders if he's not available on Saturday when New York fights to stay alive in their first round series. If he can't play, Ryan Pulock might be inserted into the lineup.
Apr 24 - 10:58 AM

With Travis Hamonic out, Calvin De Haan will end his six game absence and pair with Brian Strait on Saturday night against Columbus.

Apr 11 - 6:41 PM

Calvin De Haan, Matt Donovan, and Colin McDonald will each be scratched on Friday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Of the three, only De Haan has much of any fantasy value with 130 blocks and 136 hits along with 12 points through 64 games this season. But this will be his sixth straight game in the stands, so you may want to look elsewhere for depth support.
Apr 10 - 5:57 PM

Mar 29 - 5:39 PM

Calvin De Haan will tag in for Matt Donovan in Tuesday night's tilt with Minnesota.

De Haan will pair with Thomas Hickey to form their first defensive unit. He's had a nice season, racking up 12 points, 124 blocks, and 134 hits through 62 games this season. He'll turn just 24 in May, so look for De Haan to keep developing.

Feb 17 - 5:54 PM

Although it was previous reported that Calvin De Haan was a healthy scratch on Sunday, he's actually dealing with a facial injury.

De Haan was slashed by an opponent's skate during Saturday's contest. "He's pretty fortunate," Islanders coach Jack Capuano said. "He's lucky he had the shield on. He got stitched up pretty good there. We're fortunate he's all right." De Haan has an assist and 12 points in 48 games in 2014-15.

Feb 8 - 5:05 PM

Calvin de Haan leads the New York Islanders in blocked shots with 63.

The first round selection in 2009 and 12th overall, de Haan has only six assists in 30 games this season. The blueliner does not have a lot of fantasy value, even in deeper leagues.
