Oct 1 - 11:31 AM

Kyle Palmieri was hurt in the second period of Wednesday's preseason game.

Palmieri was shutdown after falling awkwardly into the boards in the second period. Fortunately, it seems taking him out of the game was a precautionary move. "He's just got a little minor tweak right now that we just didn't want to have him finish the game," Devils coach John Hynes said. "We just had him rest up there a little bit." He's still probable to play in the season opener, but we'll err on the side of caution by listing him as day-to-day.
Oct 1 - 11:07 AM

Kyle Palmieri scored for the Devils in their 4-3 preseason loss to the Rangers on Saturday night.

With more responsibility this season on a new team, Palmieri is expected to be one of the offensive leaders. Never counted on as the guy in Anaheim, Palmieri’s career highs are 14 goals and 31 points. Stefan Matteau and Reid Boucher picked up the other goals. Cory Schneider allowed four goals on 24 shots.
Sep 26 - 9:44 PM

Kyle Palmieri and the New Jersey Devils worked on some 3-on-3 overtime drills on Saturday.

"It was different," he said. "It was real run and gun. It gives you an opportunity to have a lot of ice to work with. The first thing I noticed is when you get those chances you've got to do your best to put it in because as soon as that rebound comes out, it's going 2-on-1 the other way or a breakaway. I think it's going to be a good change, but it's definitely going to take a little time to kind of get a system down where you're going to make yourself more successful than not." Palmieri had 14 goals, including four game winners, and 29 points in 57 games with Anaheim last year. He's projected to get a chance as a top-six forward on the Devils this campaign. New Jersey will play their first preseason contest on Sunday against Boston.
Sep 20 - 9:31 AM

Kyle Palmieri is happy to be a New Jersey Devil.

Palmieri grew up a Rangers fan and while some of his close friends growing up still cheer for the Rangers, he is happy to be near home. "That's alright. I have a couple of friends who are still Rangers fans who are going to be gritting their teeth during those games," Palmieri told NJ Advance Media. "It's something I'm excited for. I grew up around that rivalry. I know how big it was and how intense the games are. But I guess I really won't have an idea until our first big game against them. I can't wait for it." Palmieri should provide some scoring for the Devils as he had 14 goals and 29 points in just 59 games last season.
Jul 2 - 8:52 AM

GM Ray Shero was excited to acquire Kyle Palmieri from the Anaheim Ducks.

The trade was delayed a bit because Palmieri was vacationing in Ireland and could not be reached at the time. "He's at the right age, No. 1," Shero said. "He's an NHL player. He plays with speed. He's a strong kid. He can really shoot the puck. It's hard to find players like that. Anaheim's got a lot of depth up front, especially on the right side and [with] some other kids coming. So we're, hopefully, taking advantage of that." The Devils are in dire need of help on their top two lines so look for Palmieri to grab a spot there.

The deal on Friday that supposedly sent Kyle Palmieri to New Jersey is not official.

The Ducks could not reach Palmieri who apparently is not in the country, so the deal will likely be announced Saturday. The Ducks will get the 41st pick this season and a third round selection in 2016 but GM Bob Murray would not comment Friday night because of the lack of an official deal. "There’s not much I can really say," DEvils GM Ray Shero told "We’ll have to wait until tomorrow for anything official. Put it that way."
Jun 27 - 5:58 AM

Kyle Palmieri was traded to the New Jersey Devils for the 41st overall pick in the 2015 draft, and a 2016 draft pick on Friday night.

Palmieri nearly had a career season with Anaheim in 2014-15, falling just two points shy of matching his best of 31 points. He did however match his high for goals of 14 in just 57 games. Still just 24-years-old, he has a year left on his contract with a cap hit of $1.46M.
Jun 26 - 10:26 PM

Kyle Palmieri netted his first goal of the postseason on Sunday.

He got the game-winning goal 4:17 into the second period when he gave Anaheim a 2-0 lead. The Ducks went on beat Chicago by a score of 4-1 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final. Palmieri has three points in 10 games this playoffs.
May 18 - 9:24 AM

Kyle Palmieri might end up playing on Friday after all.

Based on Thursday's practice lines, it looked like Palmieri was going to be a healthy scratch as he lost his spot on the third line in favor of Tomas Fleischmann. However, it now looks like Palmieri will stay in the lineup, but as a fourth liner. That would be coming at the expense of Jiri Sekac, who previously appeared to be set to make his 2015 playoff debut.
May 8 - 2:08 PM

Kyle Palmieri is projected to be a healthy scratch on Friday.

That's based on Thursday's practice lines. Palmieri has an assist and minus-one rating in seven playoff contests. Tomas Fleischmann took his place on the Ducks' third line.
May 8 - 9:31 AM

Kyle Palmieri and Matt Beleskey each picked up their first points of the playoffs on Friday.

The duo were held off the scoresheet in the opening round of the playoffs but got off the schneid against the Flames when Palmieri set up Beleskey. It makes yourself feel a little better," Palmieri said. "Obviously sweeping Winnipeg was awesome from a team aspect. But Matty and I both knew we had a little more to give offensively in getting to the net. We struggled with it a little bit in the Winnipeg series. We had a couple of chances. Sometimes they go in and sometimes they don’t. But especially this time of the year, it feels nice to bear down and get on the scoresheet."
May 3 - 7:12 AM

Kyle Palmieri scored a beautiful goal to tie Sunday's game with Nashville at two mid way through the third period. The Ducks would go on to beat the Predators 4-2.

After Hampus Lindholm sailed a shot wide of the net, Palmieri, whose right handed, collected the puck by the net on the right side and sent one far-side past Pekka Rinne. It was a beautiful display of patience and precision. The goal was his 13th of the season, giving him 26 points.
