It appears that Kyle Palmieri (ankle) will be ready to go when the Anaheim Ducks open their regular season on Thursday.

While Palmieri will not play in Saturday's final pre-season game, he is practicing with the team. Palmieri suffered a high ankle sprain two weeks ago. He had 14 goals and 31 points last season in 71 games and you should look for a 35-40 point season in 2014-15 if he remains healthy.

Kyle Palmieri (ankle) has skated on his own for each of the last two days.

The Ducks don't have firm plans when it comes to when Palmieri might take his recovery to the next level. When he originally suffered a high ankle sprain, there was some hope that he might be available for Anaheim's final preseason game on Saturday, but that seems very unlikely at this point.

Kyle Palmieri has a high ankle sprain.

The Ducks hope that Palmieri will be able to play in their last preseason game on Oct. 4, but we wouldn't be shocked if he ends up missing the start of the season. He had 14 goals and 31 points in 71 games in 2013-14.

Kyle Palmieri scored a lone goal in Anaheim's 2-1 loss to Los Angeles Wednesday night at Staples Center.

Palmieri drove past Jeff Schultz on the right side and found a gaping net that Jonathan Quick uncharacteristically left open and scored a wraparound goal in the second period. It was Palmieri's second goal in the postseason. Nick Bonino assisted the lone goal.

The Ducks might consider putting Kyle Palmieri back in the lineup on Thursday.

Palmieri hasn't played since April 23, but he does have some offensive upside and right now the Ducks need to find a way to make life tough on Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick. If Palmieri returns to the lineup, then Devante Smith-Pelly might serve as a healthy scratch.
May 8 - 8:40 AM

Kyle Palmieri potted his 14th goal of the season in the Ducks 3-0 win over Vancouver Monday.

Palmieri has a career high 31 points this season with a plus-eight rating as he has seen time on the top line with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf but mostly is a bottom six forward.

Kyle Palmieri was one of two goal scorers for Anaheim in Friday's 5-2 loss at the hands of the Nashville Predators.

Palmieri's 13th tally of the campaign helps to continue improving his career best totals for goals and points for the campaign. Daniel Winnik also chipped in with his fifth of the year in the losing effort.

The winger played only 12:48 minutes but was plus-three and had four shots on goal to go with three hits on Friday. He has eight goals and 16 points this season with a plus-five rating and now has three goals and five points in his last five games. He is worth looking at in very deep pools.
Jan 4 - 3:55 AM

Kyle Palmieri had a goal and an assist as he replaced Dustin Penner on the first line Saturday.

Penner was a healthy scratch and after Palmieri's performance Saturday, Penner could have a tough time getting back on the line when he returns to the lineup on Monday. Palmieri has now scored in two straight games and has six goals and 13 points this season. He is worth picking up if he remains on a line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.

Kyle Palmieri scored the overtime winner in the Ducks 3-2 win over New Jersey.

It was a big night for the native of New Jersey who added an assist as well. "I was really happy for him," coach Bruce Boudreau said. "It's been a while since he scored but you could tell early on that he was getting more involved. He was getting shots off and he had a couple of chances. I really thought he might pop one tonight, especially after he made the play to Perreault for the go-ahead goal." It had been 18 games since Palmieri last scored so the monkey could be off his back. He has five goals and 11 points this season.
