Louis Leblanc has been traded to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a conditional 2015 fifth-round draft pick.

"After three seasons with the Canadiens organization we felt that moving forward the best option for Louis and our organization was to give him the opportunity to pursue his career with another team," said Montreal GM Marc Bergevin. "Throughout his entire stay with our organization Louis showed great professionalism and a constant desire to improve. We thank him for his contribution and wish him success for the continuation of his career." He skated in 50 games with the Canadiens over the past three seasons, where he notched five goals and five assists. Leblanc was the 18th overall pick in the 2008 draft, but he hasn't been able to establish himself as a professional player yet. It's likely that he'll spend most of net season in the minors with Anaheim as well.
