Dec 1 - 8:52 AM

Richard Panik scored a goal in regulation and in the shootout during Chicago's 2-1 win over the Florida Panthers.

After Artemi Panarin scored in the second round of the shootout, Panik iced the game in the next round. The Hawks forward has seven goals and 11 points in 24 games this season, but this was his first maker since Oct. 22 and it ended a 13-game pointless drought. Panik has been ice cold since his very hot start.

Oct 21 - 9:51 PM

With four goals and five points in Chicago's first three games of the season Richard Panik is now certainly fantasy relevant.

He is making good on his opportunity playing alongside Jonathan Toews on the Blackhawks' first line. Panik doesn't have significant offensive ability but what he does do is drive the net. When you play with Toews, that is sometimes all you need to do to pick up points. Ride him while he is filling a number one winger spot.

Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa picked up the assists on the goal. Panik isn't relevant in standard fantasy leagues yet, but he'll be someone to keep an eye on if he continues skating on a line with Toews and Hossa. Ryan Hartman also scored for the Blackhawks.

Richard Panik is a strong candidate to play on the Blackhawks' top line alongside Jonthan Toews and Marian Hossa.

Well, the Hawks actually have two top lines as Patrick Kane, Atremi Panarin and Artem Anisimov are no slouches. Although Panik is not a naturally gifted offensive player, a competent and hard working winger could put up some really fine numbers flanking Toews. Keep Panik in mind during the latter rounds of your draft if he solidifies this gig.
