Tim Erixon is now a Pittsburgh Penguin.
He was moved in the Phil Kessel deal mainly because the Leafs had to unload a couple of contracts to be under the NHL-mandated 50 limit. We have always liked Erixons' offensive potential from the blueline but we may be the only ones. We doubt Erixon will make much of an impact in Pittsburgh this season but you never know. Erixon's season high points total is seven in 42 games, achieved last season between three teams. Jul 1 - 2:04 PM

Tim Erixon has inked a one-year, $600,000 contract with the Maple Leafs.

Erixon had two goals and seven points in 42 games with Columbus, Chicago, and Toronto in 2014-15. His new deal is a one-way agreement, so the 24-year-old will earn the same amount even if he's sent to the minors.
Jun 23 - 5:10 PM

Tim Erixon picked up a goal for the Maple Leafs, who lost to the Senators on Saturday night 5-3.

The goal was his second of the season, in 33 games, and first since Oct. 26 when he was with the Blue Jackets. Erixon also had two penalty minutes in 15:35. Joakim Lindstrom and Leo Komarov got the other goals in the loss. Zach Sill had 10 penalty minutes.
Mar 21 - 10:16 PM

Tim Erixon is projected to play Thursday against San Jose.

It appears that T.J. Brennan will be scratched to make room for him in the lineup. Erixon has played in four games with the Maple Leafs since he was claimed off waivers from Chicago.
Mar 19 - 3:33 PM

Tim Erixon is expected to be a healthy scratch once again Monday night in Edmonton.

Monday will be the fourth straight game Erixon will be watching from the press box. Since being traded from the Blackhawks to the Leafs, he’s played in just four games while posting a minus four rating and picking up no points. He’s only 24-years-old but the former first round pick is looking like an NHL bust.
Mar 16 - 8:14 PM

Tim Erixon and Nazem Kadri will be scratched from Friday's contest with the Calgary Flames.

While Kadri could return from Toronto's internal two game ban on Saturday, Erixon has seen just four games with them since coming over on March 2nd. He has no points, a minor, and four hits and blocks.
Mar 13 - 8:04 PM

Tim Erixon is back in the Maple Leafs’ lineup Saturday.

Erixon did not play Thursday against the Lightning because of an illness. In 28 games split between the Blackhawks, Blue Jackets and Leafs, he has one goal and five assists. Expect him to get regular time in Toronto.
Mar 7 - 7:40 PM

Tim Erixon will pair with Stephane Robidas in his Maple Leafs debut on Tuesday night against the Panthers.

In 27 games this season with Columbus and Chicago, Erixon has posted six points, eight penalty minutes, and 14 blocks and hits. Virtually all of which with Columbus. Tonight will be Erixon's 79th career NHL games since being draft 23rd overall by Calgary in 2009, and Toronto is his fifth franchise. Though still only 24 years old, it's difficult to say that Erixon has any fantasy value.
Mar 3 - 7:26 PM

Tim Erixon is a healthy scratch in Sunday's game against Washington.

Erixon was claimed by the Maple Leafs on waivers earlier on Sunday and he didn't make it in time for the game. With the Leafs all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, Erixon will probably see some decent playing time.

Mar 1 - 7:02 PM

The Toronto Maple Leafs have claimed Tim Erixon on waivers from Chicago.

The Hawks acquired Erixon in a trade with Columbus earlier this season but his tenure there wasn't very long. The 24-year-old has one goal and six points in 27 games in 2014-15.
Mar 1 - 12:16 PM

The Chicago Blackhawks waived defenseman Tim Erixon on Saturday, likely in part because of acquisition of Kimmo Timonen.

Erixon was unable to score in eight games with the Blackhawks while he generated six points during his 19 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets this season. He was the 23rd pick of the 2009 NHL Draft.
Feb 28 - 12:36 PM

Tim Erixon will play in his seventh game as a Chicago Blackhawk on Thursday night against the Florida Panthers.

He has no points as a member of the Blackhawks, but he had a goal and six points in 19 games with Columbus before coming over.
Feb 26 - 7:34 PM

Tim Erixon participated in Saturday morning's optional skate.

He seems to be progressing from a lower-body injury. That said, Erixon is a fringe NHLer at the moment, so even when he is healthy enough to return, he will likely be sitting in the press box for a good portion of the Hawks' games.
Feb 14 - 12:48 PM

Tim Erixon is dealing with a lower-body injury.

The Blackhawks consider Erixon to be day-to-day. He has a goal and six points in 25 games in 2014-15.
Feb 11 - 1:51 PM

Tim Erixon and Joakim Nordstrom are healthy scratches in Sunday's game against St. Louis.

The Blackhawks acquired Erixon in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier this season. The 23-year-old has no points in six games since joining the Hawks.
