Dylan Olsen is one of the hottest defencemen in the NHL at the moment.

With his goal against the Capitals Friday night, Olsen has a five-game point streak during which he has scored three goals and registered six points. Florida interim coach Peter Horachek has liked what he's seen from Dylan Olsen since the defenseman's arrival as part of the Kris Versteeg trade.

"He's a big kid, he has a good shot, he shoots the puck really well — he has a really good first pass and he does things assertively," Horachek said. "Right now, I think he's contributing in a positive way." Olsen posted 11 points in 50 games with Rockford of the AHL last year, so even he has been caught a little off guard by his offensive production with the Panthers. He has picked up two goals and four assists in eight games.
