Ryan Stoa has signed a contract with Metallurg of the KHL, according to Sport-42.ru.

He's an unrestricted free agent after spending the vast majority of the last two seasons with the AHL's Hershey Bears. He recorded 16 goals and 40 points in 67 games in the minors in 2013-14. Stoa also skated in three matches with the Capitals.

Ryan Stoa will join the AHL Lake Erie Monsters for their first round series against the Manitoba Moose.

Ryan Stoa had two goals and four points in 25 games with the Colorado Avalanche. Colorado sent down several players after their season ended with a 4-3 overtime win against Edmonton.

Ryan Stoa (appendectomy) returned to action on Thursday March 17.

Stoa had the emergency appendectomy on March 5 and it was thought that he would be out at least three weeks but Stoa missed only 12 days before returning to the lineup. He was minus-one in 14:32 minutes of action. Stoa is a bottom-six forward with no fantasy value at this time.
