Paul Postma is competing with two other defensemen on the Jets for the final two spots on the opening-day roster.
He has to contend with Jay Harrison and Adam Pardy for the extra spots on the back end. Postma made his preseason debut on Tuesday in Winnipeg's 4-3 overtime win over Ottawa. He had a minor injury early at training camp. Postma played in a career high 42 games last season and he averaged 14:07 of ice time per contest. He won't have any fantasy value if he cracks the roster. Sep 30 - 9:25 AM

Paul Postma received a qualifying offer from the Jets on Monday.

John Albert, Ivan Telegin and Julian Melchiori were also retained by Winnipeg. Postma is the most noteworthy of the group after he skated in 42 games with the Jets in 2014-15. He contributed six points, 16 penalty minutes and 40 shots.
Jun 30 - 10:37 AM

Paul Postma will be out of action for several weeks due to a lower-body injury.

"We'll have a better understanding over the next three or four days the length of time, but it's weeks, not days, even on the positive end of it," coach Paul Maurice said. Postma logged a season-high 23:01 of ice time in Saturday's 2-1 win over Tampa Bay.
Mar 16 - 2:29 PM

Look for Paul Postma to get some time on the Jets' second power-play unit Saturday against the Lightning.

He will be paired at even strength with Mark Stuart. If you are desperate for a blueliner Saturday night, you may want to pick up Postma for one game only.
Mar 14 - 1:09 PM

Paul Postma and T.J. Galiardi are healthy scratches in Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Blues.

Dustin Byfuglien (upper-body) and Bryan Little (undisclosed) will also sit tonight.
Mar 10 - 8:03 PM

Paul Postma will be scratched against the Nashville Predators on Saturday night.

With six points, 14 PIMs, and 26 blocks through 41 games this season, Postma offers little by way of fantasy value.
Mar 7 - 6:49 PM

Defenseman Paul Postma and forward TJ Galiardi will both be healthy scratches Wednesday night against Ottawa.

The Jets continue to send out the same lineup each game, meaning this duo will continue to watch from the press box. Postma hasn’t appeared in a game since January 8th and has two goals and six points in 41 games this season. Galiardi has been out of the lineup since February 24th and has recorded just one goal in 37 games on the year.

Paul Postma and Adam Pardy are healthy scratches in Monday's game against Edmonton.

Neither player has any value in standard fantasy leagues. Jay Harrison (upper-body) is also scratched but in his case it's because of an injury.

Jan 21 - 6:12 PM

Paul Postma, TJ Galiardi, and Adam Pardy will all be healthy scratches against the LA Kings on Saturday night.

Only Pardy has even a shred of fantasy value has he's accumulated 33 blocks, 34 PIMs, and 38 blocks through 29 games this season.
Jan 10 - 8:24 PM

Paul Postma skated in Jacob Trouba's place alongside Mark Stuart on Tuesday night.

"The first game you play together you want to have a lot of success," he said. "We played pretty well tonight all around. It's a great starting point for us." Postma finished with a plus-2 rating in 17:34 of ice time during a 5-1 win over Buffalo. Trouba will be sidelined until at least February with an upper-body injury.

Paul Postma skated with Tobias Enstrom in Tuesday's win over the Islanders because of an injury to Zach Bogosian.

He registered a power-play goal in the contest to give him two points in nine games this season. Postma logged a season-high 19:23 of ice time in the contest. Scoring on the Islanders is nothing new for Postma, as three of his six career markers have come against the club.

The Winnipeg Jets have been pleased with Paul Postma's play this season.

Postma played in only 20 games last year because of injury, but has played in each of the Jets' first seven games this season. "There's going to be some young mistakes and some lack-of-experience mistakes, but his effort is better and his intensity on the puck is better and we like the way he skates and brings the puck up the ice," said Jets' coach Paul Maurice. "With more experience and confidence, he can get the puck to the net pretty well. Then, especially on the blue-line, that experience of how to close a guy off, how to separate a man from the puck, when to move it, when to jump in, those just take some time." The 25-year-old has one assist in seven games this season.
