Nathan Lawson has been returned to the minors.

The Islanders activated goaltender Rick DiPietro off injured reserve on Wednesday, which necessitated the move. Lawson posted a 1-4-2 record with an .893 save percentage and a 4.06 goals-against average in 10 games this season for the Islanders.

There is a chance that Nathan Lawson will get the start Saturday night against the Devils.

Then again, Al Montoya has been unbelievable since his recall, and may be awarded the start despite the fact he played Friday night against the Bruins. Tough call here. We will update you once we know something more definitive.

Nathan Lawson allowed two goals on 42 shots, but the Islanders were upended 2-1 by the Capitals in overtime Tuesday.

Lawson appeared to be cruising along towards a shutout win until a goal in the final minute of regulation sent the game to overtime where Alex Ovechkin sealed a victory for the Caps. It was a nice performance by the journeyman netminder, but there's a good chance Al Montoya will start the Isles' next game.

Nathan Lawson has been placed on waivers by the Islanders.

Despite recent injuries to Rick DiPietro and Kevin Poulin, Lawson has been unable to grab hold of the starting goaltender position with the Isles, as he has been overtaken by Al Montoya for that role. The goaltender is expected to be sent to the AHL if he is not claimed by another team in order to give the Isles some roster flexibility.

Nathan Lawson allowed five goals on 18 shots before being pulled in the Islanders' 6-3 loss to the Boston Bruins on Thursday night.

Lawson was relieved early in the second period by Al Montoya who made 15 saves off the bench. The Islanders goaltending situation has become a bit of a side-show this season. The team traded away starter Dwayne Roloson, Rick DiPietro (who has a 15-year contract) can't seem to stay healthy, Evgeni Nabokov refuses to play, and Kevin Poulin is hurt as well. That leaves Lawson as the de facto starter, and he has struggled his way to an .879 save percentage and a 4.57 goals-against average. Leave him on the waiver wire.

Nathan Lawson will get the start in goal for the Islanders on Thursday.

The Isles take on the Bruins and Lawson, who is 1-3-1 this season, will make his second start since he was injured on Jan. 21 as he suffered an MCL strain. He will look to improve on his 3.86 GAA and .895 save percentage. Adjust your lineup accordingly.

Nathan Lawson was good in his return from the IR on Tuesday.

Lawson was good in this game, turning aside 28 of 31 shots. Lawson is not an elite prospect however he is the starter for now. He improved on his poor stats this season. He earned his first win of the season as he is now 1-3-1 on the year.

Nathan Lawson will start in Tuesday's game against Ottawa.

Lawson hasn't played since January 21 because of a MCL strain. He's now the Islanders de facto starting goaltender because Rick DiPietro and Kevin Poulin are hurt, Evgeni Nabokov refuses to play, and the team dealt Dwayne Roloson to the Lightning. After hearing all that, you're probably not surprised that the Islanders goaltending situation is a serious issue. However, there's a team in the Eastern Conference that's played in just as many games and allowed just as many goals: the Ottawa Senators.

Nathan Lawson has been activated off of the injured reserve list.

With Rick DiPietro still injured and Kevin Poulin out for the season, Lawson could serve as the Islanders starting goaltender for now. Lawson has a 4.19 GAA and .894 save percentage in six games.

Nathan Lawson might be a week away from returning to the Islanders lineup from a knee injury, according to interim coach Jack Capuano.

With Lawson and Rick DiPietro (facial injury, knee) out, Kevin Poulin and Mikko Koskinen have been called upon to step up in the Long Island goal for the time being. Lawson has been out of action since Jan. 21 with an MCL strain.

Nathan Lawson (knee) has been placed on the injured reserve list.

Lawson sustained the injury on January 21st. He was originally expected to miss just one-to-two weeks due to the ailment, but he might end up being sidelined for up to four weeks. Stay tuned.
