He's not all that noteworthy fantasy-wise, so JFYI.

Anthony Peluso fired a puck 103.9 mph to win Winnipeg's hardest shot challenge at the team's skills competition Wednesday night.

The fourth-line tough guy, who as one goal on just 11 shots in 16 games, was a surprise winner. He'll probably be encouraged to shoot more now, though. Peluso still has one game to serve on his three-game suspension for hitting Dallas Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski from behind. He will be eligible to return on Sunday, December 22nd in Vancouver.

The NHL suspended Winnipeg Jets tough guy Anthony Peluso three games for boarding Dallas Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski.

It helped Peluso a bit that Goligoski returned to Saturday's 6-4 Stars win. Also on his side: he had no prior history of suspensions in the NHL. Still, this was one of those weekends when it was especially foolish to throw a questionable hit, as the league is clearly on high alert. Peluso doesn't have any real fantasy value, so it's unlikely to harm many (if any) owners.

Anthony Peluso will have a telephone hearing Sunday for his boarding of Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski.

Peluso received a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct at 15:28 of the second period. Dallas scored twice during this power play and ended up winning 6-4. Goligoski, who was bloodied on the high hit as his face hit the glass, initially left, but he returned in the third period. Peluso doesn't have a history of supplemental discipline in the NHL and the maximum he could be suspended is five games.

Anthony Peluso recorded his first NHL goal Thursday night.

He beat Nashville goalie Carter Hutton with a wraparound play in the second period of the Jets' 3-2 overtime loss. "The last couple of games I've had a lot of chances to put one in. It was a moral boost for me," said Peluso, who had two assists in five games last season. "It sucks that we lost in OT, but we'll take as many positives from the game as we can." He has one goal, 13 hits and two penalty minutes after five outings this year.

Anthony Peluso is trying to earn a spot on Winnipeg's fourth line.

He has done a good job at training camp and could provide the team with a physical presence. Patrice Cormier and Chris Thorburn have also turned in strong efforts for fourth-line spots. "We'll see where it all shakes out, but I think they helped themselves," coach Claude Noel said.

Anthony Peluso (hand) returned to practice Tuesday.

It marked the first time he had done so since breaking a bone in his hand on March 2. "I guess right now it'll be day to day, (that's how) we'll take it," Peluso said. "I haven't really talked to the trainers about it. That's coming from me. I mean, if it was up to me, I'd be in the lineup tonight. There's protocols to follow." Coach Claude Noel said it may take some extra time for Peluso to get back into game shape.
