Chad Johnson will not play in Saturday's finale against the Islanders due to an undisclosed injury.

Johnson may have saved his career as he took the reigns, for the most part, once Robin Lehner went down. Through 45 games Johnson posted a 22-16-4 record with a .927 even strength save percentage and a 2.36 GAA. He'll never be a starter, but he should stick around at least one more season.
Apr 9 - 5:34 PM

Look for Chad Johnson to start in goal for the Sabres when they face off against the Islanders Saturday night.

Johnson is finishing the season strong with wins in three straight games. Overall he has an impressive 22-16-4 record with a young and sometimes overmatched Buffalo squad. Johnson deserves some credit for a surprisingly good season.
Apr 9 - 8:37 AM

Chad Johnson has now won three straight games with his 3-1 win over the Devils on Tuesday.

Johnson turned away 18 of 19 shots, including five of six on special teams. His record is now up to an impressive 22-16-4 this season, which may well serve to save his career.
Apr 6 - 12:03 AM

Chad Johnson will be between the pipes on Tuesday versus New Jersey.

It will be his ninth consecutive start. The Sabres have no reason to switch with Robin Lehner injured again and Johnson playing well. He has won his last two outings and is coming off a 4-3 victory against the Rangers on Saturday.
Apr 5 - 11:59 AM

Chad Johnson blocked 33 of 36 shots in the Sabres’ 4-3 win against the Rangers on Saturday night.

Johnson gave up two goals in the second and one more in the third. He has had a fine season, with a 2.38 GAA and .919 SV%. It’ll be interesting to see what he commands as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
Apr 2 - 10:06 PM

Look for Chad Johnson to get the start Saturday evening against the Rangers.

Johnson is coming off a 25-save, 4-1 win over Toronto Thursday night and now has a fairly impressive 20-16-4 record with a 2.38 goals against average and a .919 save percentage. He's been suprisingly adequate as a second goalie this season and now that Robin Lehner is injured again, Johnson should see the majority of the starts for the rest of the season.
Apr 2 - 9:32 AM

Chad Johnson is hoping to get another contract from the Sabres, but he feels he has placed himself in a good position this off-season.

"Really, I'd like to be here for a long time – more than two years," he said. "I'd like to be here four or five. But again, who knows what the contracts will be like and what else will be out there? I know there will be other opportunities." Johnson is earning $1.6 million this year and he can be an unrestricted free agent this summer. He has played well while filling for injured netminder Robin Lehner in 2015-16. Johnson has a 20-16-4 record with a 2.38 GAA and a .919 save percentage.
Apr 1 - 7:58 AM

Chad Johnson made 25 saves on 26 shots to earn a 4-1 victory over the Maple Leafs on Thursday night.

Johnson improves to 20-16-4 with a 2.38 goals against average and .919 save percentage. He is a hit-or-miss option if you desperately need a goalie start to help in your fantasy playoff matchup.
Mar 31 - 11:00 PM

Chad Johnson will start for Buffalo Thursday night.

No surprise there. With Robin Lehner (ankle) done for the season, Johnson should continue to collect the lion's share of Buffalo's work. Johnson has a 2.41 GAA and .918 save percentage in 42 contests in 2015-16.
Mar 31 - 11:59 AM

Chad Johnson stopped 42 of 46 shots in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Penguins on Tuesday.

The Sabres finished the first period up 3-0 after Johnson made 18 saves but he couldn't muster the same magic in the second when he gave up four goals on 14 shots. We do not recommend Johnson for the fantasy playoff stretch.
Mar 29 - 10:03 PM

Chad Johnson will be in the crease again on Tuesday at Pittsburgh.

He allowed two goals on 28 shots in a 3-2 loss to Detroit on Monday night. Johnson has permitted two goals or less in five of his last six outings and he has won four of them.
Mar 29 - 4:41 PM

Buffalo goalie Chad Johnson made 26 saves en route to the Sabres' 3-2 loss to the Red Wings in Detroit Monday night.

It hasn't been much of a season for the Sabres, who aren't making the playoffs, but Johnson has been okay, with a record of 19-16-3. His goals-against average is a respectable 2.38 while his save percentage is not ugly, at .919. Give him credit for doing as well as he has with a poor team, but don't use him for any fantasy activity.
Mar 28 - 11:54 PM

Chad Johnson will get the start in Monday's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

It's a meaningless game for the Sabres, but it's a huge one for the Red Wings, who are behind the Flyers for the final playoff spot in the East. Johnson is coming off a 17-save performance in a 3-2 win over the Jets on Saturday afternoon.
Mar 28 - 6:12 PM

Chad Johnson stopped 17 of 19 shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets.

Johnson gave up two goals in the first period, but he was perfect the rest of the way. The 29-year-old has a 19-15-3 record with a 2.39 goals-against-average and a .918 save percentage this season.
