Chad Johnson did not get the start on Saturday and is waiting for another shot between the pipes.

Johnson was expected to get the start with Jaroslav Halak placed on the injured reserve but coach Jack Capuano decided to go with the recalled Kevin Poulin in net. It backfired as the Islanders dropped a 4-3 shootout decision to the Sabres. "I'm just worrying about what I can control," Johnson said. "Right now, that's hoping for better results than what I've had when I get a chance to play." Johnson is 5-5-0 this season with a 3.54 GAA and a .867 save percentage. He has allowed less than three goals in only two of his 10 starts.

Chad Johnson struggled Tuesday as the Islanders dropped a 3-1 decision to Montreal.

Johnson was beaten for three goals on 21 shots in the loss, which was his third straight defeat. Johnson now possesses a 5-5-0 record to go along with a 3.54 GAA and an .867 save percentage. There's no question Jaroslav Halak should be in goal for the Isles' next game.

Chad Johnson will be in goal for the Islanders on Tuesday.

Jaroslav Halak received a maintenance day on Monday and he got another one on Tuesday. He started five straight games, including a back-to-back situation over the weekend. Johnson hasn't played since Dec. 9 when he allowed five goals in a 5-4 loss to Minnesota. He owns an .868 save percentage and a 3.59 GAA in 10 appearances this year.

Chad Johnson is having a hard time getting back in goal for the Islanders.

Johnson was expected to play in 30-35 games for the Islanders but his struggles, along with the fine play of Jaroslav Halak, has forced him to sit on the bench far more than he wanted to. Johnson is 5-4 this season, but his peripherals of 3.59 and .868 leave a lot to be desired.

Chad Johnson was beaten for five goals on 30 shots Tuesday as the Islanders allowed four third period goals en route to a 5-4 loss to the Wild.

Johnson was forced into action after starter Jaroslav Halak came down with an upper body injury and the outing began well before the third period freefall led to his fourth loss of the campaign. Johnson's record now stands at 5-4-0 while his GAA is 3.59 and his save percentage is .868.

Chad Johnson will get the late start in Minnesota on Tuesday night.

Jaroslav Halak is being reported as out with an upper body injury, forcing the 28 year old back up into action. Johnson comes in sporting a dreadful .873 save percentage and 3.42 GAA in his nine games so far this season, which includes five goals against in his last three games.

Chad Johnson stopped 22 of 26 shots in a 5-2 loss to Washington on Friday.

Johnson allowed two goals on just five shots in the first period. He's struggled mightily this season, making him one of the least desirable backups in the league from a fantasy perspective.

Chad Johnson will start for the New York Islanders against the Washington Capitals.

Johnson won his last contest in a shootout, but he surrendered four goals on 30 shots in regulation time. He certainly hasn't been an ideal backup so far with his 3.33 GAA and .876 save percentage in eight contests.

It was a wild night for Chad Johnson and the Islanders who beat the Penguins 5-4 in the shootout.

Johnson stopped 26-30 through the first 65 minutes and then 1-3 in the shootout in the victory. It was a wild game where each team received a fortunate bounce for a goal and each goalie allowed in at least one they want back, in the end it was Johnson who stood tallest.

Chad Johnson will get the nod against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.

Johnson has a 3.27 GAA and .878 save percentage in seven games. Given how strong the Penguins' offense has been this season, we're not filled with confidence in Johnson going into this contest.

Chad Johnson gave up five goals in the Islanders’ 5-2 loss to the Lightning on Saturday night.

The Islanders hoped to be getting a steady backup, maybe even more than that, when they signed Johnson in the offseason. Instead, he has three games in which he’s given up five goals on his resume. Johnson sports a 3.27 goals-against average and .878 save percentage on the year. Jaroslav Halak is firmly entrenched as the number one.

Chad Johnson turned away 28-29 and both of LA's shootout attempts to secure the 2-1 victory for the Islanders on Thursday night.

Johnson was straight up stellar, only getting beaten on Dwight King's slick tip-in early on in the first. The Islanders seemed to take it upon themselves to use this game as a measuring stick, and at least on this night they were full-fledged.
