Robert Bortuzzo had an eventful performance in Thursday's 4-3 win over Colorado.

Bortuzzo took out Blues goalie Carter Hutton on a goal by Avalanche forward Blake Comeau, but he made up for it by scoring a goal of his own and adding an assist in the contest. The St. Louis defender has contributed three points in eight games this season.

Robert Bortuzzo is getting closer to a return from his lower-body injury.

"We'll push him up here in the next two days, bring him into contact the next few days and then we'll be able to give you a better evaluation, but he's getting much closer," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "He was able to go right through until the very last drill on practice today, which is a great sign." Bortuzzo has been sidelined since Dec. 3.
