Kyle Clifford (concussion) practiced with the Los Angeles Kings on Monday.
He's back after going to the AHL for a conditioning stint. The forward has been out since Dec. 6. "It's best for him to go play," said coach Darryl Sutter. "He hasn't played much this year. He's played 26 games. But if you add it up, in terms of minutes played, he's played four games this year. He's in a competition with five or six other guys to see what our lineup is." Clifford was sent down to the Ontario Reign of the AHL three days ago as he hasn't played since December 6. He had six shots on net over two games as the Reign won both by shutouts. Look for Clifford to return to the Kings lineup shortly. He had three assists and 28 penalty minutes in 26 games with Los Angeles before the injury.

Kyle Clifford (upper body) was on the ice on Thursday.

There was no Kings' practice Thursday morning, so it's unclear if Clifford would have participated in that as well. Either way, this is certainly a step in the right direction for him. He last played on Dec. 6.

Kyle Clifford (upper body) has not resumed skating.

He hasn't made any progress toward getting back on the ice either. Clifford has been sidelined since Dec. 6 after was elbowed in the face by Tampa Bay's Victor Hedman.

Kyle Clifford has been moved to injured reserve.

He is retroactive to Dec. 6 after suffering an upper-body injury against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Kings wanted some extra players for the road trip, so Jeff Schultz and Nick Ebert were brought up from the minors.

After taking a Victor Hedman elbow to the face on Sunday, Kyle Clifford will miss Tuesday's match with Columbus due to a what the team is calling an upper body injury.

For the season, Clifford offers 28 PIMs and 49 hits of fantasy value over 26 games but he's seeing less than nine minutes per night. He's registered 12 PIMs and just a single minor over his last five games as well, making his not much of a fantasy asset. We'll keep you posted on his status, but it's worth noting that he did skate prior to the game Tuesday.

Kyle Clifford fought Nick Foligno in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Columbus.

If you're the Kings, this is an excellent trade. No disrespect to Clifford, but any time you can take one of the other team's best players for at least five minutes - that's a win. Unfortunately, Clifford didn't do anything else noteworthy. He now has 19 PIMs in 13 games.

Kyle Clifford had an assist in Los Angeles' 3-2 win over Edmonton on Sunday.

It was Clifford's first point of the season. If he even gets 20 points in 2015-16, then that would significantly surpass his current career high.

Kyle Clifford had an assist in a 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers Tuesday night.

It was Clifford's first point since March 10. He's not a major contributor offensively at the NHL level. In fact, he only has 62 points in 347 career games.

Kyle Clifford scored a goal and registered an assist in a 5-2 victory Tuesday night.

Clifford doesn't have any fantasy value in standard leagues with five goals and 13 points in 64 contests. The Kings certainly like him though as evidenced by the five-year contract extension worth $8 million they signed him to on Feb. 25.

Kyle Clifford has agreed to a five-year deal worth a reported $8 million.

He has recorded three goals, 10 points and 66 penalty minutes in 57 games this campaign with Los Angeles. "You forget how young he is. He'll play a bigger role as he continues to improve," coach Darryl Sutter said. I'm glad he doesn't have to look at it where he is thinking about his contract this summer. He's got a young family. I'm happy for him."

Kyle Clifford scored his third goal of the season on Saturday.

Clifford opened the scoring in the outdoor game and now has 10 points this season. It was his first goal in 16 games. His fantasy value is tied up in penalty minutes as he has 66 so any offensive help is a nice bonus.

Kyle Clifford fought Brandon Bollig shortly after the Flames took a 2-1 lead on Thursday night. The Kings would go on to score four consecutive goals to win 5-3.

Less than a minute after the Flames took the lead, Clifford somehow got Bollig to fight. While the Kings wouldn't score for 16 more minutes, they clearly commanded the game, out-shooting the Flames 45-18. Clifford contributed three shots and four hits to go along with his major over just 5:20 of action. He leads the team in PIMs with 64 through 52 games this season.
