Zac Rinaldo is being utilized by the Bruins on the penalty kill.

"He's a good skater," said coach Claude Julien. "We've started using him on the penalty kill because of that. He can apply some pressure up-ice, at the same time he's done a pretty decent job in our own end." Boston has been trying out different players on the PK because of Chris Kelly's long-term injury.
Nov 16 - 2:54 PM

Zac Rinaldo, Joe Morrow, and Tyler Randall will be scratched against the Canadiens on Saturday night.

Through 10 games Rinaldo has accumulated 25 PIMs and 36 hits, making all leaguers who support tough guys very happy. Unfortunately, he won't play against highly skilled teams like Montreal.
Nov 7 - 6:27 PM

Zac Rinaldo will skate on the fourth line against the Panthers on Friday night.

Rinaldo is off to a great start for reverse leaguers with 24 hits and 25 PIMs through seven games. He'll skate to the left of Chris Kelly and Tyler Randell.
Oct 30 - 6:58 PM

Zac Rinaldo and Zach Trotman will each be scratched for Tuesday's tilt with the Coyotes.

Seven games, 24 hits, 25 PIMs for the pugilistic winger Rinaldo. If you're in a league that rewards tough guys, you've got to be loving it. Unfortunately however, he's not playing tonight. It's just the first game his missed, JFYI.

Zac Rinaldo will not be suspended for charging Sean Couturier during Thursday's game.

Couturier left the contest with an upper-body injury while Rinaldo was assessed a five-minute major and game misconduct. The NHL felt that Rinaldo's hit was not interference because it fell within the brief window where a player that has lost possession of the puck is still eligible to be checked. The league also felt that while there is contact to the head, Rinaldo did not make Couturier's head the main point of contact.
Oct 22 - 5:31 PM

Zach Rinaldo was ejected from the game at the end of the first period due to a questionable hit on old teammate Sean Couturier.

Rinaldo caught Couturier along the boards with a high hit, deemed worthy enough for a 5-minute major for charging.

Zach Rinaldo will face his old team when the Bruins face the Flyers on Wednesday

Rinaldo was traded to the Bruins from the Flyer in the off season for a 3rd round pick in 2017, after scoring eight goals and 16 assists in Flyers orange and black. Told to "A little more emotion, yeah," said Rinaldo, who has no points and 10 penalty minutes in five games this season. "It's going to be obviously my first time doing this. But no friends on the ice for me. That's the way I've always been, so that's the way it's going to be tonight."
Oct 21 - 7:48 PM

Zac Rinaldo admitted that he learned a lot from Raffi Torres' 41-game suspension.

"Raffi is a great guy. I met him in the summer and he’s a great guy," said Rinaldo. "And we both know how hard it is to make that right decision in such a quick millisecond. [The Torres suspension] did open my eyes, and my family and my friends told me to watch out, and that [the NHL] isn’t messing around. So they want to make a mark, and they did that. It really opened my eyes. There were three or four times when I really let up in that game [on Thursdaynight]."
Oct 10 - 11:27 AM

Zac Rinaldo is promising to change his game next season.

"I don't plan on getting suspended; that's the last thing I want to do," Rinaldo said. "I don't plan on taking stupid penalties; that's the last thing I want to do, is hurt my team. Changing for the better will happen. More opportunity, a different role, perhaps, and I'm open to anything to help the team win." He plans to continue to play a gritty game, but he's also hoping to do more offensively. We aren't expecting him to ever make noteworthy contributions from a points perspective, but he might end up recording fewer penalty minutes per game than he did in Philadelphia. He has 572 penalty minutes in 223 career contests.
Jul 23 - 7:49 AM

Zac Rinaldo has been shipped to the Boston Bruins for a third-round draft pick in 2017.

He earned one goal, five assists and 102 penalty minutes in 58 games last season as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers. Rinaldo has amassed 572 minutes in the sin bin over 223 matches with Philly in four seasons.
Jun 29 - 4:00 PM

Zac Rinaldo will be scratched against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night.

Due to both a suspension and multiple scratches Rinaldo has seen just nine games in 2015, but has been an effective fantasy goon in that time with 55 PIMs and 40 hits. For the season, he has 92 PIMs and 140 hits in just 40 games.
Mar 3 - 6:17 PM

Zac Rinaldo will be scratched against the New York Rangers on Saturday night.

Rinaldo has played each of the previous four games, compiling 17 PIMs and 13 hits. For the season, Rinaldo has amassed 92 PIMs and 140 hits over 40 games this season.
Feb 28 - 6:49 PM

Zac Rinaldo wasn't happy that he was given a five-minute fighting major over his incident with Jason Chimera on Sunday.

Rinaldo didn't drop his gloves while Chimera punched him after a shoving match. "I was pissed off I got the penalty," Rinaldo said, "because if it was me in that position, I probably would have been thrown out — 10, five, two. He's a good guy. I've been in that situation before where I've done something like that, but it pissed me off. I know if it was me, I would have been kicked out, probably suspended. That's what just pissed me off." Chimera was given two minutes for roughing in addition to his five-minute major for fighting.
Feb 23 - 11:21 AM

Zac Rinaldo will see his first action in 11 games on Saturday.

Rinaldo was suspended for eight games for a hit on Kris Letang and the Flyers made him a healthy scratch in the last two games. Rinaldo's strength in fantasy hockey is in penalty minutes (75) and hits (127). He has only two points in 36 games this season so anything he gets on the scoresheet is just a bonus.
