Colton Sceviour halted a 39-game goalless drought on Tuesday against Ottawa.

"I think relief is probably the best word to describe that," said Sceviour, who scored for the first time since posting his first career hat trick on Oct. 30 against Detroit. "It's been a long time. I'd be lying if I said I didn't know how long it had been. I'd been pressing a bit, so it was nice to get one." He has produced six goals and 14 points in 49 games this year.

Sceviour finished the game with an even-strength goal, a power play tally, a shorthanded marker and another assist with five shots on goal and three blocked shots. The 27-year-old is now just six goals away from matching his career high of 11 set last season with the Dallas Stars.

Stars forward Colton Sceviour assisted on two goals to help Dallas defeat the Blues 3-2 in St. Louis Monday night and tie the teams' best-of-seven, second-round series 3-3.

The seventh and deciding game of the series will be played in Dallas Wednesday night. Monday, the Stars scored all three of their goals in the first period. Mattias Janmark and Vernon Fiddler scored 20 seconds apart to give Dallas a 2-0 lead by the 5:13 mark. Jason Spezza scored on the power play to make it 3-0 with 3:11 left in the first. Sceviour assisted on the goals by Fiddler and Spezza. They were his second and third assists of the playoffs. Janmark's goal was his second of the post-season. Fiddler's was his first and it was the fifth for Spezza.
