Colton Sceviour may get the chance to play alongside Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin against St. Louis Saturday night.
At least that's how the first line looked during Saturday morning's skate. Jason Spezza skated between Ales Hemsky and Erik Cole. If you looking for a one-night pick up, consider Sceviour. Dec 27 - 2:48 PM

Colton Sceviour scored a goal in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Vancouver.

Sceviour had no goals in the first 20 games of the season, but he's now scored twice in his last five games. Despite his recent production, the 25-year-old doesn't have any value in standard fantasy leagues. Sceviour has just six points in 25 games overall. Antoine Roussel added an empty net goal to ice the game for Dallas.

Based on Saturday morning's skate it looks as if Colton Sceviour will get another chance on the Stars' top line.

He practiced with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. If Sceviour can keep this gig he may be worth something from a fantasy perspective. Of course the third position on the Stars' top line has been a revolving door this season so we wouldn't run to pick up Sceviour at this time. Much more evidence is needed before we jump on the Sceviour bandwagon.
Dec 6 - 1:24 PM

Colton Sceviour found the back of the net for the first time this season in Thursday's loss to Detroit.

He scored shortly after Darren Helm opened the scoring in a 5-2 loss to the Red Wings. Sceviour has four points in 21 games, while averaging 12:42 of ice time.
Dec 5 - 10:29 AM

Colton Sceviour (illness) returned to action on Saturday.

Sceviour missed one game with the illness and was minus-two in just 6:43 minutes of playing time. He has been a disappointment this season with only three assists in 19 games after scoring eight and assisting on four others in 26 NHL games last season. He also had 32 goals and 63 points in 54 AHL games in 2013-14.
Nov 30 - 3:24 AM

Colton Sceviour is dealing with an illness.

It's assumed Sceviour won't be able to play Friday night as a result. He has three assists in 18 games this season.
Nov 28 - 11:47 AM

Colton Sceviour is expected to play on Friday.

He's been a healthy scratch for the past two games, but will return because of Ryan Garbutt's two-game suspension. "It's a good opportunity," coach Lindy Ruff said. "Here's your chance." Sceviour has no goals and three assists in 18 games this campaign.
Nov 28 - 10:16 AM

Colton Sceviour could be the odd man out Saturday against the Flyers.

He could be a healthy scratch after lining up on the Stars' top line with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. That's quite a turn of events for Sceviour. Just shows you that you can't put too much stock in line combinations for a game or two especially early in the season.
Oct 18 - 12:54 PM

Colton Sceviour will skate alongside Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn again on Thursday.

He joined the top line in Tuesday's win over Columbus and picked up an assist, along with a plus-3 rating.
Oct 16 - 6:41 PM

Colton Sceviour has been cleared for contact as he returns from off-season shoulder surgery.

Sceviour is still being monitored closely by the Stars who don't want to rush him back. The winger had 12 points in 26 NHL games after notching 63 points in 54 games in the AHL. He will likely see most of his action as a bottom six forward but could spend time on the second line as well.
Sep 21 - 11:49 AM

Colton Sceviour is still on the mend from off-season shoulder surgery.

Dallas GM Jim Nill said that Sceviour should be ready for training camp. He's expected to compete for a permanent NHL spot this season and could move up as high as the second line if he can outperform his teammates at camp.
Sep 8 - 4:11 PM

Seasoning in the AHL for five seasons, Colton Sceviour finally got real a chance to play in the NHL last season and will be given the opportunity this season to prove he belongs with Dallas.

Sceviour is a hard-working, gritty two-way player who could catch on in either a scoring or depth role. HIs defensive adeptness hints that his default position will be in the bottom six, but the 25 year-old developed an impressive scoring touch in the AHL which saw him notch 63 points in 54 games before his NHL call-up. The Alberta native might get a chance to play with Tyler Seguin or Jason Spezza, but with Ales Hemsky and Valeri Nichushkin also vying for those spots, Sceviour will have to elevate his offensive game from the 12 points he managed in 26 games last season.
Aug 24 - 1:51 PM

Colton Sceviour will be able to play in Game 2 against the Ducks Friday night.

He slammed face first into the boards in Game 1 and there was some concern that he had seriously injured himself but he did play in the third period Wednesday. Even though he didn't skate Thursday, it seems Sceviour is good to go for Friday's contest.

Apr 18 - 1:00 PM

Colton Sceviour scored a goal and added an assist for the Stars in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Anaheim in Game 1 of their first round playoff series.

It was a nice way to start the playoffs for Sceviour, but the Stars failed to win. He finished the regular season with 12 points in 28 games so two points in his first playoff game ever was a great start for him. Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin also scored for the Stars.
Apr 17 - 3:21 AM

Colton Sceviour scored early in the first period to give Dallas a 1-0 lead in Phoenix Sunday night but it turned out to be the Stars' only goal in a 2-1 victory for the Coyotes.

The goal was Sceviour's eighth of the season. While Phoenix did not qualify for the playoffs, the Stars did. They will open their first round in Anaheim Wednesday.
