Patrice Cormier appears as though he will play Thursday and Alexander Burmistrov will sit again.

"I'll come here and try to do whatever is asked of me and work hard and do what I can to help this team win," said Cormier, who was brought up from the minors Wednesday. "It's about being strong on face-offs, strong down low, defense and offense and just being a presence out there on every shift." He played nine games with the Jets last season.

The Winnipeg Jets are expected to call up forward Patrice Cormier from the minors on Thursday.

He might make his season debut with the Jets on Thursday night versus Los Angeles after being a healthy scratch on Wednesday for the St. John's IceCaps. Cormier has been hot in the AHL of late with six goals and eight points in the eight games prior to the Christmas break. With Bryan Little (foot) on the sidelines, the team doesn't have 13 healthy forwards on the roster right now.

Patrice Cormier has been sent to AHL St. John's.

His demotion came after the Jets claimed Brett MacLean off waivers from the Phoenix Coyotes. Cormier had two points in 21 games with Atlanta last season, but had seemingly won a roster spot in Winnipeg with a strong camp. "It's just the way it goes. It's numbers. He'll be a great player for us and he'll be back soon enough," said coach Claude Noel.

It might be another month before Patrice Cormier (concussion) will be able to start working out.

Atlanta didn't make the playoffs, so obviously his goal now is to get healthy in time for training camp. That being said, it's possible that Cormier won't be ready for the start of the 2011-12 season. We'll keep you posted.

Patrice Cormier (upper body) isn't expected to play again this season.

Cormier hasn't played since February 17th due to a possible concussion. He had a goal and an assist in 21 games in 2010-11.
