Viktor Stalberg has signed a two-year contract with EV Zug of the Swiss League.
Stalberg split last season with the Carolina Hurricanes and Ottawa Senators, where he scored 11 goals and 16 points in 75 games. He also added two assists and minus-8 rating in 17 games during Ottawa's run to the Eastern Conference Final. Stalberg leaves the NHL with 82 goals and 168 points in 488 games with the Leafs, Hawks, Predators, Rangers, Hurricanes and Senators. The Ottawa Senators are still interested in bringing back Viktor Stalberg.

Stalberg remains very much in play for the Sens after a quiet day on the free agent front for Sens' GM Pierre Dorion. Ottawa added fourth-line forward Nate Thompson to the roster but nothing else. If Stalberg does re-sign, he will likely line up on Ottawa's third line limiting his fantasy value.

Stalberg was hurt after taking an innocent looking hit from Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi in the second period. The injury has put the Sens in a bit of a tough spot because Chris Neil, who is dressed for tonight's game, is hardly getting any ice time. Ottawa is essentially rolling with 10 forwards.
