Brandon McMillan's new deal will be a two-way contract, according to Coyotes GM Don Maloney.

"It's just a little quibbling over how much we have to pay him in the minor league, so we expect that to get resolved," Maloney said. If not, they have an arbitration date set for July 29.

Brandon McMillan's arbitration date has been set for July 29.

McMillan is coming off of a two-way contract that paid him $709,500 annually at the NHL level. He had two goals and six points in 22 games with Arizona.

That gives McMillan two goals and three points in six games this season. He was called up after recording 27 points and 76 penalty minutes in 46 AHL games.
Mar 11 - 10:09 AM

Brandon McMillan scored his first goal of the season on Saturday.

McMillan was called up from the minors after the Olympic break and now has two points in five games with a plus-two rating. He had 76 penalty minutes in 46 AHL games this season so he has some grit, but has yet to pick up a minor in the five games.
Mar 9 - 10:58 AM

Brandon McMillan had an assist in Phoenix's 1-0 win Tuesday night.

It was McMillan's first point of the 2013-14 campaign. He's worth taking a look at because the Coyotes are giving him a healthy amount of playing time and he should contribute both offensively and in terms of penalty minutes. He has 27 points and 76 penalty minutes in 46 AHL games this season.
Mar 5 - 10:02 AM

If Brandon McMillan hasn't already been snapped up in your fantasy league, you may want to give him a shot.

The Coyotes are giving him a shot. They like his talent and, after calling him up from the minors the other day (where he had 27 points and 76 penalty minutes in 46 AHL games this season), he was placed on a line with the Coyotes' top two forwards -- Shane Doan and Mike Ribeiro -- and has looked good. "A player who plays with good pace," coach Dave Tippett said of McMillan. "Details of the game are pretty good. Been a good player in the minors for us. He’s been a guy we’ve been wanting to get an opportunity for and watched him closely over the break, and he played well." McMillan was acquired at last year’s trade deadline from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for center Matthew Lombardi.
Mar 1 - 10:55 AM

Brandon McMillan was called up from the minors ahead of Thursday's game against Winnipeg.

Brandon McMillan has been dealt to the Phoenix Coyotes for Matthew Lombardi.

McMillan spent 60 games in his rookie season with the Ducks in 2010-11 but has spent most of the last two seasons in the minors as he played only 25 games with four assists last season and only six thus far in 2013 with a measly assist. He has a new chance to play in the desert but is likely a bottom-six forward at best.

Brandon McMillan played 6:39 minutes in his seasonal debut for the Ducks Monday.

McMillan saw fourth line action alongside Emerson Etem and Patrick Maroon and was minus-one on the evening. He missed 19 games in the AHL this season with a broken arm and received the call up after scoring four goals in his last eight games for Norfolk of the AHL. "I knew I was playing really well and I knew if I kept playing the same way, I was going to get an opportunity," McMillan said. "I realized I could come back in and be able to prove myself again. Sitting down there and just waiting, it wasn't good enough. It's not good enough. I want to be here and this is where I want to play." Don't expect a lot of stats from McMillan if he remains as a bottom six forward, but he will chip in with an occasional goal.

Brandon McMillan has been called up by the Ducks.

He is slated to skate on the fourth line between Patrick Maroon and Emerson Etem against Phoenix on Monday night. McMillan hasn't played for Anaheim yet this season, but he had four assists and 20 penalty minutes in 25 NHL appearances with the team last year.
Mon, Mar 4, 2013 03:47:00 PM

Brandon McMillan scored his first goal of the AHL season in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Binghamton Senators.

He has picked up two points and 22 shots in 11 games so far with the Norfolk Admirals. McMillan ended the 2011-12 campaign in the minors as well after he collected just four assists in 25 NHL games. His early play is suggesting that he'll probably stay with Anaheim's AHL affiliate once the lockout is settled unless he can elevate his game and earn a spot on the fourth line.

Ducks winger Brandon McMillan may have a difficult time making the team out of training camp.

Despite starting the season with promise, McMillan finished out the year in the AHL after hitting a rough patch and will have to impress the Ducks brass if he wants to avoid starting there again.
