Michael Haley fought Chris Stewart on Friday mid way through the first period.

Through eight games thus far, Haley now has 20 PIMs. Not too shabby considering he played just 3:48 tonight. It was his fourth fight of the season, which account for all 20 of his PIMs.

The San Jose Sharks have sent Michael Haley back to the AHL San Jose Barracudas.

Though Haley has picked up an astounding 189 PIMs in 63 career NHL games, it would appear that the Sharks don't value such services as he's seen just 11 games since joining the franchise in 2014-15.

The San Jose Sharks have recalled the tough Micheal Haley from Worcester of the AHL.

Haley led Worcester with 60 penalty minutes which isn't surprising, but also with 10 goals in 27 games, which was surprising as he is not known for his goal-scoring abilities. He will take the spot in the lineup vacated by John Scott who has been suspended for four games for his punch to Tim Jackman. Haley is worth picking up in daily transaction pools if you need penalty minutes as he could easily be a healthy scratch for the Sharks and you will need the option to sit him.

The San Jose Sharks have sent Micheal Haley to the minors.

Haley is useful in pools that have the penalty minute category but he does little else. Gus Young and Bryan Lerg were also sent to Worcester of the AHL.

Micheal Haley has signed a one-year deal with the San Jose Sharks.

Haley would be a league leader in penalty minutes if he ever spent a full season on a team's fourth line. However, he's far more likely to spend the bulk of the 2014-15 campaign in the minors.

The Rangers also summoned Stu Bickel, Ryan Bourque, Brandon Mashinter, Dylan McIlrath, Jason Missiaen, J.T. Only Haley will skate with the main squad and travel with them to Washington for Game 1.

Michael Haley is quickly gaining a fan in Rangers coach John Tortorella.

The tough guy was called up March 5 and began by playing a handful of minutes but lately has eclipsed 10 in two straight games -- even getting some minutes on the top line. Haley racks up the fighting majors, but he's showing that he's capable in other facets of the game, too. "He knows what he needs to do, he understands his role," Tortorella said. "Really, I didn’t know much about him when he brought him up. He’s made some decent plays and he hasn’t hurt us defensively. So that’s where he gets an opportunity to be bounced around on some lines and he’s really done a good job forechecking."
