Green was assessed a penalty for cross-checking Dorsett in retaliation, which angered the Capitals. "That play to me is the one that does concern me because it looked like a slew-foot to me and obviously that's why Mike reacted," coach Adam Oates said. "Mike's not that type of player, and you're watching it. To me it looks like a slew-foot. Very dangerous play. The momentum continued early in the third as the Rangers made it 2-1 when Derek Stepan scored 14 seconds into the period but rookie defenseman Torey Krug scored on the power play just 2:41 later as Steve Eminger was in the penalty box for holding Rich Peverley.
