Rob Klinkhammer will not be available for Monday's game against Winnipeg.

Klinkhammer left the team so he could be with his wife for the birth of their first child. Look for Matt Fraser to draw into the lineup in his place.
Feb 16 - 10:38 AM

Rob Klinkhammer had 10 hits on Friday.

It was a big night for the former Coyote and Penguin as his tough play led the way for the Oilers. Klinkhammer does not have a lot of offensive upside as he has only four goals and seven points in 32 games this season so we cannot recommend him in traditional pools. He now has 100 hits this season, which is tied for 33rd best in the NHL.

Rob Klinkhammer registered an assist in a 5-2 win against the New York Islanders on Sunday.

It was Klinkhammer's debut with the Edmonton Oilers after he was acquired along with a 2015 first round draft pick from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for David Perron. Klinkhammer logged 13:28 minutes of ice time in Sunday's game and probably won't get much more than that in any given contest going forward.

Through 29 games he has four goals, six points, 33 shots on goal, and 80 hits. He's expected to lineup to the right of Matt Hendricks and Boyd Gordon on the fourth line.

The Edmonton Oilers have acquired a 2015 first-round pick and Rob Klinkhammer from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for David Perron

Rob Klinkhammer was made a late healthy scratch Wednesday night against Carolina.

It seemed early on that Klinkhammer may have finally found a place to build on his talents, but he's managed just three points in his ten games with Pittsburgh. And not much else. He has no fantasy value as Bobby Farnham, who has 19 PIMs in eight games, subs in.

Rob Klinkhammer played his first game for the Pittsburgh Penguins on the third line with Jayson Megna and Marcel Goc.

Klinkhammer was dealt from Arizona on Friday and played 11:01 minutes including a whole five seconds on the power play. "We won’t be using him on power play or penalty-kill right away. We’ve got some depth there," coach Mike Johnston said. "We’re fine. I told him, 5-on-5, let’s get him into the game, let’s get him going. There’s a couple things I [wanted] him to focus on, but it’s only going to be two or three things." He has three goals in 20 games and has no real fantasy value at this time.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have picked up Rob Klinkhammer and a conditional 2016 fifth round pick from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Philip Samuelsson.

Klinkhammer has three goals in 19 games with Arizona this season. The Penguins could use some offensive depth after losing Chris Kunitz, Pascal Dupuis, Beau Bennett, and possibly now Patric Hornqvist to injuries.
