Rob Klinkhammer played his first game for the Pittsburgh Penguins on the third line with Jayson Megna and Marcel Goc.

Klinkhammer was dealt from Arizona on Friday and played 11:01 minutes including a whole five seconds on the power play. "We won’t be using him on power play or penalty-kill right away. We’ve got some depth there," coach Mike Johnston said. "We’re fine. I told him, 5-on-5, let’s get him into the game, let’s get him going. There’s a couple things I [wanted] him to focus on, but it’s only going to be two or three things." He has three goals in 20 games and has no real fantasy value at this time.
Dec 7 - 9:36 AM

The Pittsburgh Penguins have picked up Rob Klinkhammer and a conditional 2016 fifth round pick from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Philip Samuelsson.

Rob Klinkhammer and David Moss switched lines in practice on Friday.

As the Coyotes lost 6-2 to Winnipeg on Thursday, coach Dave Tippett had to do something and Klinkhammer moved to a line with Martin Hanzal and Martin Erat while Moss will now play alongside Sam Gagner and Lauri Korpikoski. Just an FYI as both are fringe fantasy additions in deep pools.
Oct 11 - 5:29 AM

Rob Klinkhammer made it back-to-back games with a goal, supplying the only offense Arizona forged in their 3-1 loss to San Jose on Friday night.

Klinkhammer skated 15:48, including 1:58 on the powerplay. If he continues to see time on special teams, his fantasy value ought to rise. But until he does, just enjoy his delightful name.

Rob Klinkhammer scored a shorthanded goal in Arizona's 3-2 preseason loss to Edmonton on Wednesday.

Oct 2 - 7:53 AM

The Coyotes are still searching for a left winger to play with Martin Hanzal and Radim Vrbata, but coach Dave Tippett was impressed with how Rob Klinkhammer did in that role during Thursday's game.

"I thought Klink was really good, really solid, big heavy guy on the forecheck," Tippett said. "He came to play hard (Thursday), and that’s what our group has to do — feed off each line. They go out there and make sure we compete our hardest, make sure they’re on the right side of the puck, little things right and we’ll find a way to get points." The Coyotes lost the Thursday game in a shootout to the Colorado Avalanche. On the season, Klinkhammer has nine goals and nine assists in 56 games.
Mar 1 - 11:00 AM

Rob Klinkhammer has only two goals and three points in the Coyotes last 27 games.

That includes being a healthy scratch for four games but he got off to a great start with seven goals and 14 points in his first 31 contests so he does have some scoring ability at the NHL level. "I think I really needed it just to get away and reflect," Klinkhammer said. "I thought a lot a about my game and what I need to change and stuff. I think it was a good break for me, and I think I'll turn things around in the second half here."
