Gustav Nyquist practiced on the third line on Tuesday.
That's the result of Detroit acquiring Erik Cole, who skated alongside Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader. Meanwhile, Nyquist practiced with Riley Sheahan and Stephen Weiss. Gustav Nyquist scored his 20th goal of the season in Saturday's win in over the Islanders.

Nyquist scored 28 goals in just 57 games for Detroit last season, and he is on pace to reach the 30-goal mark this season. The 25-year-old has collected at least one point in five of his last six games, and he has eight points during that stretch.

Gustav Nyquist scored a goal and added an assist for the Red Wings in a 5-4 shootout victory over Minnesota.

Nyquist has tallied two points in each of his last three games and has increased his point total to 36 for the year, raising his pace to about 60 over a full campaign. Teemu Pulkkinen, Jonathan Ericsson and Xavier Ouellet also scored for the Wings in the victory.

He notched two goals and four points in back-to-back contests this past weekend. Nyquist has 18 goals on the year, which ranks him second on the Red Wings, and 10 of them have come by way of the power play. That places him just one behind Alex Ovechkin and Joe Pavelski for first in the league.

Nyquist's 16th tally of the campaign was his first in seven contests, but he has recorded points in his last three outings. Darren Helm added a shorthanded marker in the victory while Tomas Tatar also registered his 17th of the year.

Detroit's Gustav Nyquist will join newly fined Vincent Trocheck of Florida, and Nashville's James Neal, as the only three players to be fined $2,000 for diving so far this season.

Each player gets a warning from the league if they're caught diving, a second offense comes with the subsequent fine. Nyquist was warned back on Nov. 28th, which made his Dec. 29th flop a very expensive effort to fool the refs.

Nyquist held on to the puck doing a number of loops around the perimiter of the Ottawa zone and actually had the puck on his stick for a remarkable 28 seconds before shooting it past Craig Anderson. Gustav Nyquist scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Red Wings defeated the Senators on Saturday night 3-2.

Nyquist’s individual effort on this play was tremendous as he skated two laps around the Senators defensive zone and held onto the puck for nearly 30 seconds before firing a wrister past Craig Anderson. He has shown that he has a nose for the net, now with 43 goals in his last 93 games at the NHL level. The goal was his first since Dec. 12, however, as he has scored at a high clip despite a middling 86 shots on goal. He has 15 goals and 23 points this season. Henrik Zetterberg registered a goal and a helper, while Justin Abdelkader got the other marker. Niklas Kronwall picked up two assists.

He picked up a secondary assist on three of Detroit's four power-play goals in the contest. Nyquist also finished with two shots and a minus-2 rating. He has 14 goals on the year, but none have come in his past five outings.

Gustav Nyquist scored a goal in Detroit's 3-2 shootout loss to Florida on Friday.

Nyquist has now scored in back-to-back games, and has 14 goals on the season. The 25-year-old is on pace to surpass the 30-goal mark for the first time in his NHL career. If he can stay healthy, Nyquist should conitnue putting the puck in the net for Detroit. The Red Wings sent Nyquist out during the shootout, but he was turned away by Panthers' goaltender Roberto Luongo.

Forward Gustav Nyquist notched his 13th goal of the season in the Detroit Red Wings' 2-1 shootout loss to the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs Wednesday night.

Nyquist scored the game's first goal with 2:08 left in the second period. He put a turnaround backhand shot past Leafs goalie James Reimer from in front after taking a pass from Tomas Jurco, who was below the goal line. Nyquist, the Wings' leading goal scorer, fired a game-high seven shots on net.
